Valve once again surprised gamers yesterday when it announced the Steam Deck OLED less than a week from its November 16 launch. Early impressions are extremely positive on various aspects, and there are also minor performance improvements thanks to the faster 16 GB LPDDR5 on-board RAM (6400 MT/s, up from 5500 MT/s of the original model) and fixed 1.6GHz GPU frequency (the original model is variable from 1.0 to 1.6GHz) enabled by the 6nm Sephiroth APU.

When asked about his prior knowledge of the Minish, Link admits he’s never heard of them. “That’s so strange,” one Minish muses. “We Minish are all over the place!” Overlooked and forgotten, these little guys reflect the larger place of The Minish Cap itself in the Legend of Zelda pantheon. It’s an overlooked Zelda game bursting with charm, replete with clever puzzles, and a firm grip on excellent pacing. It’s an underrated gem of the Legend of Zelda series.

Two months on from the release of Starfield, players are still waiting for Bethesda to address the numerous bugs which are present. But there's a whole other group of players out there taking matters into their own hands — the team behind the Starfield Community Patch, an ambitious and surprisingly professional taskforce trying to fix the game themselves. The first trailer for Marvel Studios’ Echo is full of surprises. It’s shockingly violent, as we watch Kingpin beat a man half to death, and see his adoptive daughter Maya Lopez (the eponymous Echo) throwing savage blows and snapping the necks of street-level scum. There’s even a very brief Daredevil cameo. (OK, that last part is not really a surprise; we knew that Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio would return as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, respectively, for Echo.)

Although experienced a rocky road upon its release, after a number of patches it has become one of the best games to be released in recent years. One undeniable highlight of the game is its fantastic story — a story that features a number of exciting, and often unexpected, twists and turns. Perhaps the game's most notable surprising event comes during the fifth main job, «The Heist,» during which a seismic event takes place that shakes the political and social fabric of Night City. Furthermore, this out-of-the-blue occurrence results in one absolutely enormous plot hole that potentially has huge consequences for the entire extended Arasaka family storyline.

An enterprising Final Fantasy 14 fan has set out to complete the MMO’s story content using only a party of healers, with additional rules thrown in to make the task more difficult. They were quickly made to regret the decision.

October 28 marked 20 years of the Call of Duty series, as part of which some of the key designers  have been talking about the greatest moments. The foundation for its overwhelming success, however, will always be original developer Infinity Ward, in particular the leap forward the studio made with the Modern Warfare series. It delivered an unforgettable and oft-controversial singleplayer campaign reflecting one view of contemporary geopolitics, alongside a best-in-class multiplayer experience that the wider series has followed ever since.

Current Fantastic Four comic writer Ryan North is working on EA and Motive Studios' upcoming Iron Man video game, according to a social media post from the writer himself. Though few details about the game have been released so far, we know that the game is officially in pre-production using the Unreal 5 engine.
