Bethesda and Amazon have confirmed that the Fallout TV show will be released in 2024 and is set in Los Angeles.
Amazon released the poster below to coincide with the showing of a Fallout trailer at Gamescom.
The teaser, which aired following a Starfield presentation, won’t be publicly released, but Bethesda’s Todd Howard said bigger looks at the show will be coming soon, according to attendees including GamesRadar.

The teaser featured marching Brotherhood of Steel soldiers, a shootout in a western-inspired town, and a woman emerging from a vault for the first time.
“One of the movies which inspired Starfield is the movie Interstellar, written by Jonathan Nolan – he goes by Jonah,” said Howard. “I got to know Jonah, and I always wanted to make a Fallout TV show. So, I talked to Jonah about it and we have been making the Fallout TV show that’s coming, and we thought we would give you a sneak peek.”
Fallout debuted in 1997 and the most recent game in the series was 2018’s online multiplayer title Fallout 76.
The last mainline series entry, 2015’s Fallout 4, is also its best-selling one, having shipped 12 million copies worldwide for launch day alone, according to its publisher.
Bethesda said last year that Fallout 4 would be getting a free current-gen upgrade in 2023. The update, which will be coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, will include a number of new features for improved performance.
Asked about its progress this month, Bethesda’s head of publishing Pete Hines said the company currently had its hands full with Starfield, which will be released on September 6 following a couple of delays.
“Dunno if you heard but we are shipping a new game in 3 weeks. Bit of a priority. When we have an update, we will share it,” he wrote.
Howard reiterated last year that Fallout 5 is behind Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 in the developer’s production queue.

It may not be perfectly timed with the film’s release, but a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem game is in the works. Outright Games announced plans to launch what is essentially a sequel to the theatrical outing sometime in 2024. Specific platforms haven’t been revealed yet, but look for the Mutant Mayhem game to make its way to consoles and PC.
September is a massive month for Game Pass with the day-one release of Bethesda’s Starfield, but there are plenty more games coming to the subscription service soon.

A vampire named Kado Thorne is apparently trying to take over the Island.
Since the launch of Warhammer 40,000’s 8th edition, I’ve gotten back into the hobby of painting miniatures. Seven years in and I’ve painted plenty of Space Marines, all hard edges and shining armor, and I’ve gotten pretty good at it if I do say so myself. Muscled orks? No sweat. Ancient Necrons? Got it in the bag. Fleshy, tortured agents of Chaos? I can handle it. But the latest release for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, the highly anticipated Cities of Sigmar boxed set? It’s got me absolutely terrified.
Amazon confirmed yesterday that the Fallout TV series will air at some point next year on Prime Video. The series' creators also revealed that it will be set in Los Angeles, where Vault 33 is located.
Fallout's upcoming TV show in production at Amazon Prime is probably one of the leakiest projects known to man. Several images of the set, locations, and other info have leaked on a fairly regular basis over the past year, so it's no real surprise that the show's first official sneak peek/teaser trailer has also made it onto the Internet well before Amazon itself was ready to show the thing off.
Starfield might be hogging the spotlight right now, but that doesn't mean Bethesda has forgotten about its other babies; Fallout — or more specifically its upcoming live-action TV adaptation — is, for instance, having a bit of a moment right now following a brief Gamescom showing and confirmation from Amazon that it's launching in 2024.
