Albion Online’s next major content update, Wild Blood, will go live in October. Shapeshifter Weapons, Tracking, and Awakened and Legendary weapons are coming.
There is a brief teaser for the new update that hints at some of what’s to come. Recent dev talks have revealed several new features that the team has had in the works, and several of them will be coming in Wild Blood. The teaser shows off tracking, for instance, and Tracking will be in the update. It looks like a packed update, since Shapeshifter Weapons are also in the update, along with the introduction of Awakened and Legendary weapons. The announcement of the Wild Blood update title and a general release window also included that there would be more in the update alongside those major feature updates.
Knowing that the patch is coming in October will give some a chance to potentially consider some of what they might want to do with these new features. Shapeshifter Weapons already look like a game changer, since adding this feature will increase build flexibility, since you'll be able to acquire different weapons that will let you transform into different beings (which the team is calling shapes). Each of these different forms will have their own health and armor stats, as well as different skills and strengths and weaknesses. this might mean that you could be playing very differently as a human versus as whatever shape you choose if they are each keyed to a different play style or goal.
Wild Blood will also bring in Tracking, which the teaser shows. In deciding to add this feature, the team's goal was to get more players out to roam around the open world. This should increase chance encounters but also to simply have more people around. Once they have a tracking kit, groups can track a target. These creatures that are your targets will initially match the shapeshifter weapon forms.
The teaser shows a group attempting to track a werewolf, and a werewolf is indeed one of the first group of shapes that you’ll be able to shift into.
Sandbox Interactive is scheduled to release a series of new dev talk videos taking a deep dive into the Wild Blood update over the next few weeks.

September promises to be a blockbuster month for gaming, with a stellar lineup of heavy hitters set to release this month. Kicking off the show is Starfield, Bethesda's epic sci-fi space fantasy RPG, which has been in development for eight years, apparently. The studio's first original IP in 25 years, Starfield, as director Todd Howard puts it, is essentially Skyrim in space. Hundreds of hours of spacefaring adventure await, with a side helping of nostalgic Bethesda style. The game is out now on PC and Xbox Series S/X. It's also a big month for RPGs, as CD Projekt Red's much-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 expansion hits the shelves on September 26. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty promises a ton of upgrades from the base game, including an overhauled skill tree, a new wanted system, and gameplay tweaks. There's a brand new story, too, with Idris Elba joining the cast, and Keanu Reeves returning.

No one should have to go too long without new Star Trek, and thankfully Paramount agrees: A month after Strange New Worlds wrapped up season 2, Star Trek: Lower Decks is back with its fourth season to bring some wacky fun to the Federation (which, the rest of the Star Trek universe aside, the Federation could sorely use; they can get a bit self-serious).
Blizzard has confirmed that there will be another update for Diablo 4, Diablo 4 patch 1.1.4, before the launch of Season 2 - Season of Blood.
