The folks over at Remedy Entertainment have been pushing for an Alan Wake sequel. It took the development studio years to get the project off the ground. So this passion project is now gearing up for a release this month. Of course, if you’re keen on picking this game up, you might be trying to steer clear from any spoilers. Meanwhile, those who want a bit more insight into the game could be persuaded to check out the achievements. Fortunately, it looks like some of the achievements have been published.
Thanks to the folks over at Insider Gaming, we’re finding out that the Epic Games Store has released details on the achievements of Alan Wake II. There are 66 achievements for players to unlock, ranging from getting specific kills or finding tools to even using items. Some achievements will be hidden away, so in this case, we won’t know what those particular achievements entail. That is until after the game launches and players start to slowly uncover some of the accomplishments they can achieve as they progress through the campaign.
We imagine those achievements could be tied to the game’s narrative campaign. In this case, you’ll likely not want to see those achievements before the game launches. But fortunately, we don’t have long of a wait to endure now before we can get our hands on Alan Wake II. This game launches later this month on October 27, 2023. If you haven’t been keeping tabs on the game, this title is set years after the events of the original Alan Wake.
Fortunately, this game is set as a standalone experience, so you don’t have to go back and replay Alan Wake before starting the sequel. With that said, we know the game is centered around two protagonists. We have Alan Wake, an author who vanished years ago. Alan is stuck in another realm as he seeks to find a way back home. Meanwhile, we also have an FBI agent named Saga Anderson, who was sent to a small town called Bright Falls to figure out who is behind a series of ritualistic killings.
As mentioned, the game will be released on October 27, 2023. When this title does come out into the marketplace, you can expect it to be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. In the meantime, you can view the achievements currently revealed through the Epic Games Store below.

Remedy Entertainment has rolled out a major new Alan Wake 2 update across all platforms, including over 200 improvements and fixes.
The Manuscript Pages in Alan Wake 2 allow you to look deeper into the larger story happening in the game. These pages are scattered throughout the narrative, but some are well-hidden and hard to find in Watery.
Alan Wake 2 is a tale about the outrageous horror story Alan is writing, and much of it comes to life in Bright Falls because of the Dark Place. There are Manuscript Pages that you can find that detail significant parts of the story, and several appear in Bright Falls.
The Cult Stashes you find in Alan Wake 2 can be extremely helpful in keeping your supplies high throughout the course of your playthrough. There are several you can find while exploring Bright Falls.
Scratch, the shadow creature spreading corruption and chaos in , is the final boss you have to beat toward the end of this intense survival horror game. Although there is another Chapter to the story after this fight, you won't have another chance to foil the schemes of this horrifying entity. This short encounter will test your ability to multitask quickly as you try to keep an artifact called the Clicker out of Scratch's hands.
There are two shotguns available to players of , which they can find at different points in the story. Saga can use one, and one can be used by Alan later in the story, although both will have little ammo at first. However, both of the shotguns will be very useful for the enemies the characters encounter and can allow them to escape the Dark Presence.
If you're a fan of games such as Alan Wake, Control, and Quantum Break, you'll know that developer Remedy Entertainment has some pretty far-reaching narrative plans to tie all of its work into the same universe. Quantum Break is the exception, as its status as an Xbox exclusive and semi TV series has made it difficult for Remedy to merge it with the overall narrative, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a few easter eggs of its own.
Epic Games Publishing and Remedy Entertainment's exceptional survival horror game, , is a phenomenal game that features some of the best vocal acting in any recently released title. Managing to avoid the lure of hiring widely known celebrities to fill out its roster of voices, does still feature a cast comprised of a number of figures with easily recognizable voices — many of which players will quite possibly be able to identify from their notable roles in the worlds of film, theater, and television, and, in a few select cases, even from other popular video games.
Instead of finding Manuscript Fragments for upgrades, the eponymous character will need to find Words of Power in Alan Wake 2. These Words of Power locations allow Alan to upgrade himself in multiple different special character trees. Each upgrade increases his strength in a different way — you can deal more damage, enhance your health, or make your weapons more powerful. It all depends on those Words of Power.
A good game over screen doesn’t just serve as a notice that you need to start over. In the survival horror genre, a well-crafted, properly terrifying game over screen should serve as a deterrent, ensuring you stay alive the next time to avoid seeing the bloody words ‘Game Over’ appear on your screen. And sometimes, like in Alan Wake 2, they could be so terrifying you never want to die again.
