Every time we see Alan Wake 2 we’re blown away, and this 11 minute demo published by IGN is no exception. Unlike the Gamescom footage, this sequence focuses on second playable protagonist Saga Anderson, and showcases some of her FBI detective skills, as well as general exploration and combat. The atmosphere and overall sense of style is seriously impressive.
This has also got to be one of the best looking PS5 games to date – it’s absolutely breathtaking, especially the environmental artwork. Are you impressed by what you’ve seen of this game so far? Is it on your wishlist in an admittedly action-packed October? Connect the dots in the comments section below.
A true PlayStation veteran, Sammy's covered the world of PS gaming for years, with an enormous Trophy count to prove it. He also likes tennis games way more than you.
Release it physically and I'll buy it, until then it's a deep sale purchase a couple of years down the line.
@PixelDragon completely agree, i loved the first one and remedy games in general and was really excited when this was announced but i will not support digital only releases on AAA games
Agree with both you guys...
The only exception I made to buying an expensive Digital one was BG3. Other than that I wait until Digital only releases
go on sale or get added to PS+
With Spider-Man 2 in the same week and no physical release this is going to bomb big time for the first few months.
The delay made the release date even worse.
@NoToSheep
Binned off getting BG3 as well. My PC isn't good enough and I've stopped buying games for it regardless (huge back cat), and the news that the PS5 version isn't getting a physical release outside of Japan stayed my hand.
Even stopped buying digital games for the Series S several months ago.
It looks absolutely incredible, and I love the sound effects that are seemingly directly tied to Control. I can’t wait to play this game — and it aligns with the time I’m taking vacation from work. It should be a great Halloween.
Enemies take entirely too many hits and the combat looks like it’s going to let the game down. I do like the detective board and the graphics are pretty damn good
@PixelDragon Remedy will probably make a similar amount of money from your digital deep sale purchase than they would from a full price physical one, due to a higher margin and lack of disc production fees. My guess is once the percentage of physical sales drops to a certain percentage (in guessing 30%), the percentage of physical games profit will be low enough that a lot of publishers pull the plug. It'll only take one to do it and come out ok for the rest to follow.
I really want to play this but with Mirage and Spiderman 2 out in October itl have to be an xmas purchase.
