2K's once popular Top Spin tennis franchise has been given new life with the surprise announcement of a new game in the series. It's been a whopping 13 years since the last Top Spin title, a 2K sports game series that was once beloved by fans of tennis and of sports video games in general.
The Top Spin franchise had its beginnings on the original Xbox console in 2003, making its way to PC and PlayStation 2 in subsequent years. At the time, the only other serious competitor in the small niche that was 2000s tennis games was Sega's successful Virtua Tennis franchise, which has also laid dormant for almost as long as Top Spin. Three more Top Spin games were released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii through the rest of the 2000s, with Top Spin 4 marking the end of the beloved tennis franchise in 2011.
Now, 13 years after Top Spin 4, 2K has announced the return of the series with TopSpin 2K25 alongside the world-famous tennis tournament, the Australian Open, which is currently underway. The short 20-second teaser trailer featured in-engine footage of an Australian Open tennis match. The new logo followed as the trailer ended with «coming soon,» urging tennis and sports video game fans to follow TopSpin2K on Twitter for future updates.
For over the past decade, 2K has been leaning heavily on its more well-known annual sports franchises, like the ever-popular NBA 2K, WWE 2K, and PGA Tour 2K, letting other once popular series like MLB 2K, NHL 2K, and Top Spin fall by the wayside. Now that it's been over ten years since a major tennis video game, TopSpin 2K25 may find an audience that's been longing for a more realistic representation of the sport equipped with modern visuals. It seems like, with the inclusion of «25» in the title, TopSpin is looking to become another annual franchise alongside 2K's other NBA, PGA, and WWE franchises, as the original Top Spin games from the 2000s were non-annual releases.
Though it has no release date, "2K25" indicates that the game is aiming for release sometime in 2024, as it's standard practice for new sports games to include the next calendar year in their titles. With that said, fans may be right to expect to learn more about TopSpin's return later on this year at Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, as 2K has shown off games like Marvel's Midnight Suns and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands at Keighley's presentations in the past.
The 2023 entry in the long-standing NBA-inspired basketball sports game franchise, NBA 2K23 comes from Visual Concepts. Form teams and play as the best NBA stars, and as a returning feature from NBA 2K11, players can also try their hand at the Jordan Challenge to relive Michael Jordan’s most iconic career moments.

Berserk Boy first appeared on Steam in 2022 and immediately impressed as a fast-paced action platformer inspired by classics such as Mega Man. Then it vanished from Steam - and re-appeared, and vanished again, and so on.
A new Palia update is on the way, and it builds on the Maji Market. The Luna New Year update makes the previous festival space more bustling and busy, with new activities, rewards, recipes, and quests. It is a much beefier take on the previous Maji Market event, and it shows how developer Singularity Six is iterating and expanding on the existing world.
Palworld, the viral hit action-adventure survival title that has come under intense scrutiny over the alleged likeness of its in-game creatures to the cute monsters from Pokémon, could be staring at legal trouble. The Pokémon Company, which manages the iconic franchise, has finally released an official statement addressing the swirling plagiarism accusations against Palworld, albeit without naming the game directly. Palworld released in early access on January 19 and quickly took the Steam charts by storm, with developers Pocketpair confirming Thursday that the game had sold over eight million copies.
CES helps us all get into the spirit of the new year with a slew of new devices and technologies being introduced every year. The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show was no different. But, since we are infamous for being very loud fans of smart home tech, we got attracted to the next generation of cleaning products introduced by Roborock at the event.
cutscenes don’t always play out in ways that are necessarily ideal, but there’s one easy technique that can help make characters look more presentable at virtually any point in the game. Unlike the first two games in the series and many similar RPG competitors, features extensive voice acting and motion capture to bring conversations to life. This can provide enormous benefits to overall immersion, but it also provides plenty of opportunities for minor things to become distracting.
It's been almost two years since Master Chief got some, and nothing has been the same since. We live in a world where Mr. Halo himself has got laid, a very different characterisation than we get in the games. It made headlines, it shocked the world. Now, it turns out that we weren't the only ones who felt that it was a little ridiculous.

Top Spin, the beloved tennis video game franchise that has not seen a release in over a decade, is getting a revival. Publisher 2K revealed Tuesday that TopSpin 2K25 will arrive soon, pairing the announcement with a teaser trailer. The development also comes in the heels of the ongoing Australian Open, capitalising on the tennis fever the first Grand Slam of the year brings with it. TopSpin 2K25 will be helmed by Hangar 13, the 2K-owned studio behind the recent Mafia games. 2K have not specified a release date or a window, with the game slated to be “coming soon.” With the 2K25 moniker, however, one can expect a release sometime later this year, as is the norm with other 2K sports game franchises.

Valve may have had a change of heart about fan-made tribute projects “borrowing” its intellectual property. GamesRadar+ reported on the Steam maker’s DMCA takedown notice sent to the creators of Team Fortress: Source 2, a passion project porting TF2 to the more modern Source 2 game engine. In addition, the Steam maker squashed a Portal demake for the Nintendo 64, hinting at a possible shift toward a more protective corporate strategy from the typically lenient Valve.
