A Unicorn Overlord Sequel Could Be Considered | Push Square

Unicorn Overlord received the 1.04 update with bug fixes, performance enhancements, stability improvements, and new features. Unicorn Overlord puts players in charge of managing units in small armies, and the latest update makes it easier to select said units while improving the information displayed in a squad.

The original Tails of Iron was quietly a big success for developer Odd Bug Studio. The action RPG about a kingdom of rats has drawn in a lot of fans thanks to its sketch-like art style, deliberate combat, and explorable world. We suppose the fact it's narrated by Doug Cockle — voice of Geralt in The Witcher series — may have something to do with it too, but whatever the case, the team isn't resting on its laurels for Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter. Sadly, February marked the passing of Yoshitaka Murayama, the legendary creator of Suikoden and its spiritual successor, Eiyuden Chronicle, with Hundred Heroes releasing on PS5 and PS4 next week. Developer Rabbit & Bear Studios has announced its intention to proceed with the series, but what form that takes will depend on how its impending and eagerly anticipated JRPG is received.

However, if they’re a 3rd party company, they have much more freedom to choose where their title goes but also have to deal with the potential difficulties of putting it on several systems. Vanillaware is experienced in doing multiplatform titles, and their latest game, Unicorn Overlord, wasn’t just multiplatform, but it’s already sold over half a million units. That shows the game continues the developer’s legacy of making quality titles.

Unicorn Overlord has been a surprising success in the strategy RPG realm, having completely sold out in some territories and shifted over 500,000 copies, but its roots stretch back to the developer’s sometimes-forgotten action RPG gem.

Looking at the studio's long line of Naruto Ninja Storm titles, a follow-up to its Demon Slayer arena fighter always seemed inevitable.

The publisher of Unicorn Overlord says there are currently no plans for DLC or a PC port, but a recent survey does mention the possibility of a sequel.
