3 PS Plus free demos you should try this weekend (May 17-19)

One of the most underrated features of PlayStation Plus Premium is the game trials that it offers. Although Sony does not put its AAA games on the service the day they release, it and several other third-party publishers offer up free demos that essentially give players full access to the game for a limited period of time. It’s a great way to test a new game before you buy and it also gives you an excuse to try out a variety of different games this weekend without making the time commitment to beat them all. I looked through the full list of game trials that PlayStation Plus Premium offers and pinpointed three of the demos that are most worth your time.

I’ve looked through the Xbox Game Pass lineup and found three games that I think all kinds of players can have a good time with this weekend.

3 new Nintendo Switch games you should try this weekend (May 10-12)

If you only tend to follow the biggest video game releases, it may seem like the Nintendo Switch is currently in a game drought. The system has only gotten a handful of niche releases last year, like Endless Ocean: Luminous, that haven’t been Zelda-level hits. Zoom out a bit, though, and you’ll find that Nintendo’s aging system is still thriving. That’s thanks to vibrant indie and third-party scenes that are keeping the platform engaging.

3 free video games you should play this weekend (May 10-12)

Whenever we recommend games at Digital Trends, we tend to go heavy on titles available on subscription services like Xbox Game Pass. Rather than telling our readers to buy new games, we always try to find ones that might be on services they’re already paying for. Still, that doesn’t cover every player. There are plenty of more casual gaming fans who aren’t subscribed to any service that offers extra games. We don’t want to leave them out, do we?

3 Xbox Game Pass titles you should play this weekend (May 10-12)

This may feel like an odd weekend to play Xbox Game Pass because it has been such a devastating week for Xbox. It shuttered four studios that fell under Bethesda’s umbrella, with Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks being the most notable closures. Although it can be tough to enjoy playing games during a time when the game industry is so clearly hurting, it also offers us an opportunity to look back at what these developers created and appreciate hard work. That’s how I chose the three titles I’m spotlighting today.

FPS Starring Danny Trejo & Chuck Norris Is Free To Play This Weekend

Xbox Game Pass is offering users an opportunity to break bad with the likes of Chuck Norris, Danny Trejo, and Michael Madsen with this weekend's iteration of Free Play Days. Every week, Microsoft dishes out some extra bonuses to the platform's subscribers that provide an opportunity to play some games that may not necessarily be available on the service. Fortunately, if those users enjoy the experience, they're able to pick up the games on trial with a substantial discount so the fun needn't come to a halt just because the weekend's run its course.
