It was, by all accounts, a strange 2023 for Xbox. Its games were all over the board, and the company itself spent most of the year embroiled in the process of getting Activision Blizzard into the figurative catcher’s mitt.

Equipment is the utility option that further aids your character besides the main skills and some of the best offensive and defensive items in Risk of Rain Returns. You can always carry one equipment at a time, and it can be manually activated, just like skills in the game.
Having some of the best equipment options will define your character’s overall build. There are a couple of equipment options that heal your character and offer one more chance instead of dying. Then again, for players who want to melt enemies, Risk of Rain Returns also offers a plethora of best equipment options that can practically double and triple the damage dealt. Most situations in Risk of Rain Returns call for powerups and buffs to clear the crowd faster. If you do not have the necessary items or the perfect equipment, your survivor will not stand a chance and will die. This is where Prescriptions Equipment comes in handy and saves the day!
Your character’s damage is buffed by 30 percent, and attack speed significantly increases by 40 percent for an eight-second duration when you trigger the Prescriptions Equipment.
While having equipment options that deal directly is a much better choice than having AoE ones, sometimes, equipment like the Glowing Meteorite is a necessary evil. This equipment not only deals 200 percent damage to enemies but also to coop friends for eight seconds.
So, brace yourself when you trigger the meteor shower and try to avoid them falling from the sky onto you.
Rockets are, without a doubt, the ultimate form of destruction, and the same is the case when you equip Disposable Missile Launcher equipment in Risk of Rain Returns. This equipment fires 12 missiles, and each has the potential to deal 300 percent damage to its targets.
Unleashing the barrage of missiles is very effective after the boss has spawned as you interact with the Teleporter. You will immediately deplete a large chunk of the boss’s health and kill a few enemies near you.
Some of the best equipment options in Risk of Rain Returns are only good as long as you trigger them. However, to get the most out of Dynamite Plunger, you need to wait until a lot of it is dropped on the ground and then detonate all of it in a single go.
Every time you hit enemies, your character will drop dynamite. Pressing the equipment activation button will detonate all of the dynamite available, dealing 200 percent damage to targets near it. We have found the best case use of this equipment is when the boss has spawned and you

In 2023, there was a pretty consistent flow of amazing new video game releases that launched over the course of the year, including many high-quality titles for the Xbox Series X and its slimmer counterpart, the Series S. From the hit indie title to the Xbox exclusive, there has been no shortage of virtual experiences to keep gamers occupied. While there are numerous good games covering every genre, these ten titles are some of the best for the Xbox consoles this year.
2023 was a massive year for the gaming community as a whole, with many huge video games being released throughout, yet there were still numerous titles from the smaller indie developers that also managed to steal the show. From short, thought-provoking games such as to the larger retro-inspired RPG , there are many different genres to experience while supporting the indies. Indie developers don't have the financial backing of the large AAA companies, yet some can still produce incredible works of art that they share with the world.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is drawing ever nearer, and at today’s PC Gaming Show, GSC Game World delivered a new story trailer for the game. The big news, is that the trailer features none other than Strider, a key character from the previous entry in the series, STALKER: Call of Pripyat. We also get a variety of other hints that this isn’t a narrative reboot – this game will be carrying on the story from past games, so make sure your STALKER lore is in order before you jump in. You can check out the new STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl story trailer, below.
Not many games have a story like Indika, a game about a 19th century Russian Orthodox nun journeying to the centre of her soul with an «unusual, horn-headed companion.» Drawing inspiration from Dostoevsky and Bulgakov and dripping with dark humour, Indika tells a tale of religion and authority, madness and belief. But also, not many games have a story like Indika, whose developer Odd Meter left Russia when the country invaded Ukraine in February last year. Calling the invasion an «insane crime» perpetrated to «satisfy the ambitions of an elderly, weak-minded dwarf,» game director and studio founder Dmitry Svetlow decided to up and move Indika's development—and the company behind it—out of Moscow to neighbouring Kazakhstan, even moving the «entire recording studio by truck.» And both of those stories make it, for me, one of the most fascinating games to grace this year's PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted.
Surviving in Risk of Rain Returns becomes impossible as difficulty scales and stronger enemy types and bosses start to appear and hunt you down. You will need to equip some of the best offensive items in the game to keep clearing stages and continue looping. Weaker items will only weigh you down and get you killed in the long run.
Defeating bosses, looping stages, and acquiring powerful items or the stacks of existing ones are the core gameplay elements in Risk of Rain Returns. Having the best defensive items bolsters your chances of surviving anything the game throws at you, and without these, any build is prone to fail, and your character will die as difficulty spikes.
