Meta Platforms takes on OpenAI, launches AI coding software

OpenAI had the field to itself when it initially rolled out ChatGPT and made all the right noises about artificial intelligence. It grabbed the spotlight and looked to have stolen a march on its rivals. However, that time has passed and increasingly, the tech majors are stealing away its market share and launching competing tools that have been taking the world by storm. The latest to do so is Meta Platforms.

WhatsApp group without a name? Coming soon to your phone

The instant messaging app WhatsApp has recently rolled out various new features that are globally available and some are also being tested for future updates. Most recently, the company released HD photo sharing, screen sharing during video calls and an option for recording short video clips. Now, it will be rolling out a new feature that will allow users to create WhatsApp groups without a name. Earlier, it was compulsory to add group names but now with this new feature users will not have to think of a name urgently. Check out how the feature works.

Elon Musk says news organizations are eligible for X's revenue-sharing program

Just days ago, reports highlighted that billionaire Elon Musk intended to remove headlines from link previews on X (formerly Twitter) to make the height of the preview box smaller. But that does not mean that he wants these users and organizations to stop using the platform. In fact, Musk has been openly asking journalists and news organizations to become a part of the platform and participate in news sharing to begin earning money from X's revenue-sharing program. But with no option to share headlines in links, it might be that the billionaire is setting things up for original, or direct, reporting on the social media site - scribes are being encouraged to post directly on X.

Elon Musk Concedes Twitter Might Fail

Despite all changes he’s made, it looks like Elon Musk isn’t happy with the current state of Twitter, also known as X, and is conceding the social media site might fail.

Elon Musk says blocking, a feature both Apple and Google require on social apps, 'makes no sense'

I want to get off Elon Musk's wild ride. In another series of tweets/posts by the mind behind X (formally known as Twitter), Musk has promised that the block functionality is going to be "deleted as a 'feature' except for DMs," going on to post that it "makes no sense".

Elon Musk says ‘blocking’ on Twitter “is going to be deleted as a feature”

Elon Musk made a shocking comment on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday when he said that ‘block' as a feature will be deleted on the platform. That means users will not be able to block any other user on the platform, no matter if they spam or troll. The billionaire is known for his dislike of general social networking features, and he has repeatedly expressed his feelings about it. However, getting rid of the blocking feature might not be that easy, even for the owner of one of the largest social media platforms.

Elon Musk takes dig at Mark Zuckerberg, says, “….opposite of an escape artist is”

Mark Zuckerberg's decision to not fight Elon Musk seems to have made the latter dub the CEO of Meta an "escape artist". In an unexpected turn of events, Mark Zuckerberg has announced his intention to leave behind the ongoing feud that had captivated the tech world's attention.

NYU professor says locked out of his X account after row with Elon Musk

Billionaire Elon Musk has been dominating the headlines this week due to his antics around the ‘big fight' with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg that is just not refusing to get finalized and both men are blaming each other for the delay. However, the X (formerly Twitter) owner has reportedly found himself in another fight (the non-physical type), and this time it is with New York University's Professor Scott Galloway. The professor is also an author, public speaker, and the owner of an X account with a massive 560,000 followers. However, recently the professor has made some shocking allegations against Musk.

Congratulations, Elon Musk! You Won!

The optimal time to have abandoned the idea of a cage match between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg would have been the very moment it was first suggested. The second best time is right now.

Exodus at Threads as platform loses 80% of its active users

In early July, Meta Platforms launched the Threads app, a new text-based social media app aimed at capturing the essence of real-time interactions. With a massive launch and an influx of Instagram users transitioning to Threads, the initial excitement was amazing. In fact, Threads was quickly dubbed as a "Twitter-killer". However, this enthusiasm was short-lived, as the app's active user base experienced a steep decline soon after its launch even though it had broken many records initially.
