A Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has found a bizarre glitch in the water of the Sifumim Shrine. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a massive open world that players continue to explore every inch of, but this water may not react the way that gamers would expect.
Unlike its predecessor, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has an abundance of explorable areas in The Depths and the Sky Islands. With so much space to traverse, players have made vehicles like one inspired by the Podracer from Star Wars, a hoverbike, and aircraft that require little to no power. This can be achieved once gamers complete the Great Sky Island tutorial area and collect the Ultrahand ability. There are also abilities like Ascend, which lets players rise through floors above them, and Fuse, which can be used to pair two items to make a new one. Though Ascend could have helped one player escape the glitched water of a Shrine, they waited to see how it affected Link, resulting in an interesting clip.
Reddit user Ganon_Durf recently shared a video in which they're reaching the end of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's Sifumim Shrine and are in a battle with Constructs. The clip begins with Link having only a sliver of health as he flashes a distinct red color while swimming in the water around a central platform. The player then maneuvers Link to climb on a raft circling this platform, and they jump off and use the Glider just to fall back into the water. As the current starts to sweep Link in one direction, the gamer clings to the nearby wall and suddenly plummets. Once at the bottom of the water, Link recovers his Stamina as if he were standing on solid ground. Beyond this, Link isn't presented with a breath meter, allowing the player to stand in place for as long as they want.
Despite the rest of the water responding to Link as it normally would, this spot next to the raised platform acts as if there's no water at all. Because the player demonstrates this part of the water acting the same way multiple times, it's likely a portion that hasn't been programmed in the same way as the rest of the canal. One fan has suggested that this glitch is replicable in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the predecessor to Tears of the Kingdom. According to them, a handful of water areas don't have water collision. As clinging to the wall of this waterway is necessary to repeat the process, it's possible that Nintendo didn't expect players to swim into the wall of the Shrine. Gamers are meant to climb onto the raft and jump to the central platform to defeat the Constructs before the Shrine can be completed.
As there are many bodies of water in the game, players may be able to encounter a similar glitch in different Shrines and locations in Hyrule. Given that Nintendo

Tears of the Kingdom quickly became one of the most successful Zelda entries in recent memory when it launched on the Nintendo Switch last May, and this was partly due to the massive amount of freedom it gave players in interacting with the open world of Hyrule. 2017’s Breath of the Wild already featured this to some extent, but Tears of the Kingdom took it a step further with the addition of Link’s Ultrahand power.
