Xreal announced that it has partnered with five companies to help expand use of its augmented reality glasses.
Through demos at CES 2024, Xreal said it is partnering with Qualcomm, BMW Group, Nio, Quintar, and Forma Vision.
Xreal, previously known as Nreal, wants to democratize AR by extending spatial computing capabilities across diverse sectors and audiences in 2024. The announcement comes after Xreal revealed its Xreal Air 2 Ultra AR glasses for developers yesterday and that it has sold 350,000 units of its prior generations of AR glasses to date.
“As the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of AR glasses, we seek out companies who share our vision for a future where the digital and physical world’s mesh, where all experiences, from enterprise to entertainment, from automotive to recreational, can empower people to experience the world in new and creative ways,” said Peng Jin, cofounder of Xreal, in a statement. “Our CES 2024 partners are leading in their respective fields, just as Xreal is the leader in spatial computing and AR glasses. I can’t wait for CES attendees to experience everything we’ve created together at CES 2024, and what will come in the future.”
Xreal and Qualcomm Technologies announced a multi-year collaboration aimed at integrating AR, AI, and 5G. The partnership aims to leverage 5G connectivity to drive power-efficient AR applications across various domains, exploring possibilities in fitness, sports, and artificial intelligence integrations.
The collaboration between Xreal and BMW Group focuses on introducing AR glasses into the driving experience. Visitors at CES can witness AR glasses in action, enhancing navigation, entertainment content, hazard warnings, and more, seamlessly integrated into the real environment, as envisioned by BMW.
In partnership with Nio, Xreal show an in-vehicle AR entertainment experience using AR glasses co-developed for Nio’s smart electric flagship SUV, ES8. The collaboration pioneers an immersive cinematic experience for passengers through AR glasses, minimizing the need for in-vehicle screens.
Xreal and Quintar want to show off the future of live sports and entertainment, showcasing immersive spatial video projections for sports fans using Xreal glasses. The demo offers personalized data overlays and a three-dimensional, real video projection experience in living rooms.
Forma Vision is introducing holographic meetings through Xreal AR glasses, transforming video conferencing into a real-time volumetric experience. The platform enables multiple perspectives and elevates remote meetings to an interactive holographic level.
