Xbox Cloud Gaming adding mouse and keyboard support

There are plenty of Xbox multiplayer games currently available for interested players, be they on the Xbox Game Pass catalog or not. Multiplayer games offer some of the best experiences with friends and even offer the chance to make new ones. There are competitive games in which players dispute an objective among themselves, while others are cooperative and provide a joyful experience with other party members. Of course, there are also multiplayer games that consist of the liberty of choice, and players can choose whether they want to team up or engage in combat against other users on Xbox.

As Microsoft continues to bring updates and improvements to its Xbox Cloud Gaming service, the company has announced a new update that brings with it a new interface that will allow players to make use of Xbox’s social features through the cloud gaming service.

Players enrolled in the Xbox Insider Program have a new Xbox Cloud Gaming-focused build to check out, and it's a pretty substantial update.

Microsoft has unveiled a range of new social-centric features for Xbox Cloud Gaming, including the ability to discover and manage friends, initiate parties outside of gaming sessions, maintain party chats between game sessions, and more. These significant enhancements, along with fixes, are now available for Xbox Insiders enrolled in the Alpha Skip-Ahead program.

Today, Microsoft is apparently previewing a brand-new interface for the Xbox Cloud Gaming, this is supposed to include many different things such as social features and UI according to The Verge. Players will be able to access this brand new interface from the web too, having its own version of Xbox chat party to talk with your friends straight from your browser.

Microsoft is reportedly planning to unveil new Gears of War and Call of Duty games at its traditional Xbox summer showcase.

While the name Kareem Choudhry may not be as well-known as, say, Phil Spencer or Matt Booty, Xbox fans who keep abreast with the company’s announcements and showcases are likely to be familiar with his face. As corporate vice president of emerging technologies at Xbox, Choudhry was in charge of a lot of the more innovative things Microsoft’s gaming division offered in recent years, including backward compatibility and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Vodafone Idea has launched Cloud Play, a cloud gaming service for mobile platforms, promising premium mobile games like Asphalt 9, Modern Combat 5, Shadow Fight, and more. The service, introduced in partnership with Paris-based cloud gaming firm CareGame, will be subscription based, with prices starting at Rs. 100 per month. Cloud Play will be available on both iOS and Android devices and can be accessed via the Vi app or website.

Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft’s game-streaming platform, finally lets you actually use a keyboard and mouse to play on PC. There’s a bit of a catch for now, though, in that it’s only a beta test for now with a small selection of games supported. Still, it’s something!
