Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? While there’s no indication that the team behind Echo were fans – or even aware – of Avatar: The Last Airbender, one Marvel fan has spotted an eerily similar parallel to how both shows ended.

Xal'atath, the Harbinger of the Void, is obviously about to play a major role in retail's upcoming expansions, but has Xal'atath made an appearance in Classic with the Season of Discovery? We investigate.
Void-Touched Armaments are powerful Epic items that can be created during Classic's Season of Discovery. The questline and acquisition of this gear involves a mysterious Shadowy Figure who really does seem quite similar to Xal'atath. According to a Dead Twilight Cultist — figuring out how to speak with them is the first step in the questline — he was approached by a sinister presence who compelled him to create "The Box".
The cultist implores us to find and destroy the box… which can only be done with a powerful source of Light.
Destroying the box leaves behind a Shard of the Void.
It also causes the Shadowy Figure to appear, offering to show you how to use the Void shard to create a Void-Touched Armament.
Like Xal'atath, she wears the form of a female elf wreathed in shadow — though of course, she's a Night Elf (or perhaps a High Elf...) no Blood or our newer Void Elves in Vanilla Classic! In an image posted to reddit speculating that it's her, she's even holding a curved dagger. Intriguing!
A mysterious shadowy elf who gets us to do Void things for her certainly sounds like Xal'atath, but could this be her? It's possible.
First of all, while Xal'atath would have still been trapped in the Blade at this time, that doesn't mean she couldn't take on an avatar. In fact, when she takes on the Void Elf appearance in Battle for Azeroth, it's while she's still stuck in the blade — she's only released later. All Xal'atath really needs is a powerful enough void relic and a corpse.
Secondly, it's also completely within Xal'atath's power to travel through the timelines. After all, we see her leaving with Iridikron during the Dawn of the Infinite dungeon — which takes place in the past. If current Xal'atath wanted to journey to the past mostly just to have fun with Classic Season of Discovery players, there's no reason why she couldn't.
Ultimately, Classic players who have Destroy The Box are left with a powerful item, but a

In the quest Wriggling Mass, you would learn that holding the mass would plague you with visions, and by turning it in to the Hermit, you would learn he used to be plagued by the same visions — until the day Sargeras struck Silithus.
It’s looking increasingly likely that we’re in the final months of the Nintendo Switch’s active lifecycle now, but even so, owners of the hybrid platform do still have a handful of notable upcoming releases to look forward to. And though the likes of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Princess Peach: Showtime! have surely turned a few heads, perhaps the one that’s most highly anticipated is the remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
