The data for this article was taken from the Icecrown Citadel Statistics Page on Warcraft Logs. We will be looking at data for the 95th percentile, plus showing the overall results to paint a better picture.
The idea of this article is to give a perspective of the current state of class balance for Wrath Classic, meaning this is an incomplete picture of Phase 4 balance.
We say perspective, as there are inherent biases in looking at the data this way.
- Specs considered underpowered are generally played less and tend to appear weaker than they are.
- This happens as many performance-oriented players tend to play the strongest spec or class, increasing the gap between top and bottom specs even further.
- Position of specs for the 95th percentile might be skewed by alternative strategies and parse funneling. We're including the chart showing all percentiles' results to paint a better picture for all specs.
- Statistics displayed on Warcraft Logs use the highest difficulty available for each boss, so these rankings are for boss encounters with Hardmodes activated.

WotLK Classic Gold Cap Increased to 999,999
Wrath of the Lich King received a new update yesterday, version 3.4.3.54261. There was no prior communication about an update, and there has been no official posts about what this new build includes. One undocumented change that has been noticed, however, is that Blizzard has increased the Character Gold Cap from the previous ~, to. This is most likely to prepare for the launch of Cataclysm Classic, as the Gold Cap was increased to that amount when Cataclysm was originally released in 2010. Characters are no longer capped out at ! The Guild Bank Gold Cap has also been increased to with this build. As players have been getting more effective with gold farming, and with the popularity of GDKP runs in Wrath Classic, the cap increase might come as a welcome relief to players. Some have previously voiced their thoughts on a higher Gold Cap being needed for the launch of Wrath Classic, citing better ways to earn gold and the previously mentioned GDKP runs as arguments to increase the cap.

Are Players Receiving Less Raid Loot in Season of Discovery Phase 3?
As players continue to clear the 20-player Sunken Temple raid, they've started to notice that they're receiving fewer pieces of loot than in previous Phases. While each boss is dropping more pieces of loot, the increase in player requirement as well as a change to the lockout cadence is leaving players wondering if the development team made a mistake. Players have taken to Reddit, Twitter, and the Official Forums to share their feedback about the Sunken Temple loot situation. One commenter even broke it down and suggested that the Sunken Temple bosses should be dropping up to 10 pieces of loot in order to compensate for the number of players per raid and weekly lockout.
