Worldless, gorgeous Metroidvania with turn-based combat, is out now

Metal: Hellsinger is a neat rhythm shooter, in which you blast demons in time to the beat of heavy metal. This week brought the release of new Purgatory DLC, which adds new tracks and a bow weapon, but also the launch of a free Horde mode update. The latter lets you fight escalating waves of enemies in different arenas, with between-wave powerups and permanent upgrades to unlock.

Two of the best games released this year, Dave the Diver and Dredge, involve fishing. It only makes sense then that they should collaborate. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and its Warzone component kicked off its Season 1 multiplayer today, marking its first major update since launch. The former gets three new maps as part of its 24/7 playlist, in addition to a 6v6 arena set in Rio, which will be available later in the season. As usual, there are some rewards for racking up kills without dying, granting players an EMP upon getting a 13 killstreak and the ability to summon mosquito swarms as cover on a 15 killstreak. There's also a new perk called the Assassin Vest, which makes players immune to UAV scans and doesn't pop skulls on the minimap upon performing an execution.

The third set of threads for Street Fighter 6’s launch roster is available in-game now – but unsurprisingly, the Internet’s already up in arms over the pricing. A single outfit will set you back 300 Fighter Coins, but you can only purchase denominations of 250 Fighter Coins (£3.99/$4.99) or 610 Fighter Coins (£9.49/$11.99). This means, whichever approach you take, you’ll always have some currency leftover.

In addition to Update 2.1 going live for all players, Cyberpunk 2077’s Ultimate Edition is out on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It’s the definitive edition and includes the base game, Phantom Liberty expansion, all updates released thus far (including Update 2.1) and digital goodies from the “My Rewards” program for $59.99.

GTA 6 trailer has been officially released. The trailer was initially scheduled to go live on December 5 at 9am ET (7:30pm IST). However, it was released 15 hours ahead of schedule following a leak. Grand Theft Auto 5 was introduced in September 2013. Therefore, the anticipation surrounding the GTA 6 trailer, after 10 years of the game's last release, was already soaring. The leak and thereby the preponed release of the game's trailer has sent enthusiasts into a frenzy. The launch timeline and compatible platforms for GTA 6 were also officially announced.

I've had a careful eye on Demonschool ever since it was first announced at the PC Gaming Show in 2022. Combining a style inspired by the Persona games with unique turn-based tactics and truly striking 2D-meets-3D visuals, it's a project with fantastic potential.
