The January World of Warcraft Trading Post details are out, and afterthree months of class transmog sets, there are new beginnings, including a chance to earn a new achievement and a new transmog set. New items in the general rotation include new mounts, a pet, plus weapon and armor transmog.
Next month's armor transmogs begin to take on a more notable amount of color after the more recent spooky and cold seasons. The Seeds of Renewal content update is coming, and January’s offerings reflect that theme well.
The Gossamer Desert Gown is available for 100 Trader’s Tender and the sunny yellow dress fits in with the lighter and warmer times ahead. Similarly, the Orange-Sleeved Shirt is a baseball tee style shirt for 50 TT. The shirt has a white center and orange sleeves. The Highlord’s Ceremonial Drape is a cloak that’s also got a sunnier color scheme. Finally, the Vagabond’s Sunny Threads, Wanderer’s Sunny Trappings, Trader’s Carrot Sarong, Tabard of Wild Might and others also offer some warm options.
Even the weapon transmog options are gleaming, with colors of gold and blue on many of them. There are some exceptions for both. If you aren't into sunnier colored clothing, there is always the Ensemble: Wastewander Tracker’s Kit or the Solemn Watchman’s Garb. Or for weapons, try the Heavily Stitched Wallet or the Copper Scarab Bulwark shield transmog. That one is a regal looking purple with copper trim.
The month's new pet is the Time-Lost Salamanther. There are two mounts, the Jeweled Copper Scarab (which would complement that shield transmog) and the Armored Golden Pterrordax.
In January, a new offer begins. The Burden of Unrelenting Justice color-shifting Transmog Set will become available, along with a new achievement, “Trading Post Enthusiast”, for those who have earned the monthly bonus reward twelve times in total. These don’t have to be consecutive. With the Trading Post nearly a year old, some will be able to begin claiming this offer very soon.
Finally, this month’s bonus reward could get that collection rolling. Fill your Traveler’s Log and walk away with the Golden Mobile Timepiece.

A new easter egg with the Arsenal: Cosmic Weapons Cache rewards from the November/23 Trading Post has been discovered! Thanks to Twitter user Korrin for the tip. The Twilight Hermit is a NPC that was originally added to the game in Battle for Azeroth. The Hermit was already shrouded in mystery back then, as he was the person you would bring the Wriggling Mass you collected during your Island Expeditions. In the quest Wriggling Mass, you would learn that holding the mass would plague you with visions, and by turning it in to the Hermit, you would learn he used to be plagued by the same visions — until the day Sargeras struck Silithus.
Blizzard has clarified that the extra 500 Traders Tender received by players this month is an intended but unlisted reward from the Trading Post Enthusiast achievement for completing the monthly trading post bonus twelve times.

EU players are reportedly receiving an extra 500 Tendies from their January Trading Post rewards. That means 1500 for January instead of the regular 1000 possible for the month. We don't know yet if this is a bug or intended, but hopefully, it is intended, as the trading post sports many expensive items this month, including Armored Golden Pterrordax, Copper Resonating Crystal, and Time-Lost Salamanther. January Trading Post is already live for EU players. NA players need to wait until 7 am Pacific Time to start the January activities.
During the December 2023 Forged in Aeternum Balance of Power community Q&A, the developers of New World teased “a lot” of new content that could be coming in 2024.
The latest Q&A video — the last of 2023 — for New World dropped on Christmas. Despite the festive outfits of two-thirds of the developers on camera, the Amazon Games team addressed some pretty hard-hitting questions that have circulated since its 2024 roadmap was revealed.
On November 10, Humane, a 2018-founded startup known for working with AI technology, unveiled its first product called Ai Pin, a clothing-based wearable gadget. The OpenAI CEO Sam Altman-backed company presented the device as a new technology that does not require a user to spend time interacting with it and instead gets the information needed quickly so they can focus on the moment. With a displayless design, which goes against the ethos of most consumer tech products, the company focuses on voice and laser ink technology to show and tell the information through an AI chatbot. The company has now revealed that the product will be shipped to consumers starting in March 2024.
The New World team is,once again, discussing their methods of storytelling, with a highlight on music and sounds. In prior videos, they’ve touched on the subject, particularly with Brimstone Sands, but now, after four seasonal releases and the first expansion, Rise of the Angry Earth, there’s a lot more to talk about.
