Arriving twenty years after the original Outcast, a sequel, Outcast - A New Beginning is out now, and to herald its launch, publisher THQ Nordic and IGN partnered up to send the Adelpha Edition of the game to space. To make this stellar outing even better, one lucky fan will win the Adelpha Edition that actually went to space, plus another sealed version for their collection. Read on for details on how to enter for your chance to win.
Early in the morning in a field in the Midlands, three copies of Outcast - A New Beginning (one for each platform) were loaded into the compartment of the custom built spacecraft, alongside the mounted 9.5” Saï statuette that is included in the Adelpha Edition of the game.
Overseeing everything from assembly to launch and recovery of the craft was marketing-focused space agency Sent into Space. The custom spacecraft, made in Sent into Space’s workshop, was built from specially engineered materials, and designed to keep its Outcast - A New Beginning Adelpha Edition cargo safe as it ascended skyward. Every detail of the journey was calculated and predicted by Sent into Space, whose experience of conducting over 1000 flights into the upper stratosphere ensured they knew where the craft was going to land within about 100 metres.
Lifted by a giant balloon, the in-built cameras on the craft documented the Saï statuette’s ascension, capturing a truly out-of-this-world picture of the Earth’s curvature behind the big-eared creature. The craft couldn’t quite get to the alien world of Adelpha, the setting of the game, but by reaching 28 km above sea level, it got as close as it could.
Outcast - A New Beginning is an open-world action adventure game featuring returning hero Cutter Slade. Developed by Appeal Studios and published by THQ Nordic, Outcast - A New Beginning sees ex-Navy SEAL Cutter Slade return to the vibrant alien world of Adelpha to save it from invading robot forces.
Use Cutter’s jetpack to jump, air-dash and glide around the open world, and combine dozens of modules to create your personal weapon for taking down enemies. Cutter’s dry wit will have you chuckling along throughout the journey, but with the world around him changed, he too will have to adapt.
If you want to win the Outcast - A New Beginning Adelpha Edition that went to space (plus another sealed edition on the platform of your choice for your collection) head to ign.com/rewards/win-2-copies-of-outcast-a-new-beginning-adelpha-edition to enter your details. Open to US and UK residents only, T&Cs apply.

It’s April Fools’ Day, but this post is no joke: There is a lot of new TV to watch this week. In a lot of ways it’s a showdown of tense situations — “tense,” here, being used to cover things like Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott, in the new adaptation) trying to con his way into high society, American Horror Story: Delicate’s Anna (Emma Roberts) attempting to figure what’s a real haunting and what’s in her head, Mark (Steven Yeun) trying to live up to the title of Invincible while he protects his family, or Larry David (Larry David) just trying to make it through the end of Curb Your Enthusiasm alive.

On the set of Ex Machina and Annihilation director Alex Garland's latest movie, authenticity was key. Civil War, an action-packed film that follows a near-future version of the US as it's torn apart by a tyrannical president, seceded states, and violence, used real tanks, real weapons, and real jets to bring its warfare to life.
The Pokemon-style RPG Cassette Beasts is getting a major new update, adding online multiplayer and a host of other interesting features later this year. UK-based developer Bytten Studio and prolific indie publisher Raw Fury released Cassette Beasts on Windows and Linux computers last April, with a wider launch on Xbox systems and the Nintendo Switch the following month. Just like Pokemon, Cassette Beasts tasks players with collecting different elementally empowered creatures, although these monsters are stored within old-fashioned audio cassette tapes and summoned using a handheld cassette player.
