Fatshark has opened upWarhammer: Vermintide 2’s sixth anniversary event, with the return of “A Quiet Drink” and opening up the game’s Versus mode alpha to all owners.
The team is thanking the community and promising that there are more new additions on the way. The anniversary event will run through March 18th, so if you want to dip your toe in the celebratory action, now’s the time. The A Quiet Drink map returns each year for the enjoyment and nostalgia, letting you steer the Ubersreik Five to a place to get a drink. It’s available through the events tab.
Yet, the biggest part of the new update has to be the expansion of Versus mode’s alpha. Access to all owners of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is available during the anniversary event. In order to test out the new multiplayer PvPvE mode, you can get into a Versus lobby from the game’s main menu. Versus had a closed alpha test last month, and this new special event alpha continues the test and polish time, but also makes a fun anniversary treat for both those anticipating its arrival and those who might not have jumped into the game in a while.
Those who participated in last month’s closed alpha will notice some changes have been made for this new phase. So even if you already tried the mode last month, there is something new here for you too. The biggest change is there’s a new map entirely. Expect more NPC enemies, reduced ammo and health pickups around the arena, and more enabled features, like an end of match scoreboard, and reworked team scoring.
See more details on the anniversary update and Versus alpha over on the Vermintide 2 Steam page.
