Square Enix’s Visions of Mana has received a new trailer, though it’s more focused on the series’ evolution through a player’s eyes. It starts with Final Fantasy Adventure and the latter’s childhood before progressing to Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana and Dawn of Mana. Check it out below.
The trailer ends with the player, now an adult, gazing upon a billboard for Visions of Mana, the next mainline title in the series. Its story revolves around Val, who accompanies his childhood friend Careena to the Tree of Mana. Throughout the journey, they party with characters like Careena, who hales from Longren and fights with Ramcoh, a sacred beast cub, and Morley from Etaern, whose hometown was destroyed in his youth.
Though each character has unique skills, they can change to classes like Rune Knight, Dancer, Nomad and Aegis by equipping different Elemental Vessels. The Vessels also have unique effects like the Luna Globe stopping time or the Sylphid Boomerang creating wind currents, aiding exploration.
Developed by Ouka Studios, Visions of Mana is out this Summer for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Series producer Masaru Oyamada promises the “highest volume of content you can enjoy within the series”, though its playtime can change “depending on the player’s pacing.” Check out some more gameplay here.

Visions of Mana, the next entry in Square Enix's Mana series, sadly won't have co-operative multiplayer.
Visions of Mana won't include a multiplayer mode like its predecessors at launch, but the game's producer has toyed with the idea of reintroducing co-op to the series "in the future."
Square Enix’s Visions of Mana is the next big title in the long-running action RPG series, with a story focused on Val as he accompanies his friend Hinna to the Tree of Mana. Combat incorporates special abilities via Elemental Vessels, which can also result in different classes. However, it won’t have one thing that the series is renowned for: Co-op multiplayer.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance, 2018's meticulous medieval action-RPG, is finally getting a sequel. Publisher Plaion has announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, set for release in 2024 across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. Developed by Warhorse Studios, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 promises to be a “true sequel” to the first game, bringing visceral first-person melee combat and a deep RPG experience.
Final Fantasy 16 successfully expanded the audience of the series, though future games won't necessarily take a similar direction.
Square Enix has released a special trailer for Visions of Mana, dubbed “Continue Your Life with Mana,” which outlines the history of the Mana series through the life of a player.
