Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered trilogy has been announced for Nintendo Switch

Though most of this year’s titles were released on time without much hassle, there are still some delays. For instance, Warner Bros. Games’ Batman: Arkham Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch. Set to release on October 13th, the publisher has announced a sudden delay to December 1st.

The upcoming Nintendo Switch release of the Batman: Arkham Trilogy has been delayed.

With Nintendo allegedly having showcased tech demos of the Switch 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) to developers in behind-closed-doors presentations at Gamescom in August, leaks related to the console have been springing up with much greater frequency of late, including some of the games we can expect to launch for the system.

Red Dead Redemption 2 could be in line for a surprise launch on the Nintendo Switch, as per a classification rating for the game in Brazil.

The Nintendo Switch is long past the traditional lifespan for a console and its technological limitations are rendering it unable to stand up to current generation systems for new games. Titles such as have struggled in making versions that can run on the outdated system, and Nintendo itself appears to be focusing heavily on remakes and remasters. As beloved as the Switch has been, and with as popular of a console as it continues to be, the next system will need to include many impressive features if it hopes to see similar numbers in sales.

Sometimes, gamers must ask out loud, “Who asked for this?” Usually, those moments come when a video game arrives that quite simply doesn’t live up to the hype or the long development time it took to get made. When Gotham Knights was released last year after a long wait, many gamers indeed wondered who asked for a title like that. While the concept was good, the execution was lacking, leading to many woes, including optimization across all platforms. Now, a new rating again implies that the Nintendo Switch will get a version of the title.

Studio Lights, a Shinjuku-based studio that worked on the environment lighting and cutscene lighting for both Final Fantasy XVI and Forspoken, has announced “isekai action RPG” Mononoke no Kuni. It will launch for PC via Steam in spring 2024, with plans to also release on PlayStation, Switch, iOS, and Android. A specific PlayStation platform was not announced.

The next game in Square Enix’s SaGa franchise has been announced. Titled SaGa Emerald Beyond, the game was unveiled during the recent Nintendo Direct. SaGa Emerald Beyond is slated for release on the Nintendo Switch some time in 2024. Check out the trailer below.

Aspyr has announced Tomb Raider I-II-III Remastered for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (Steam). It will launch on February 13, 2024.

With the Switch now presumably in the final stages of its active lifecycle, Nintendo is filling out its release schedule with a number of remakes and remasters of older classics, from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door to Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. Another remake was also recently announced that might not have quite the same mainstream appeal, but will surely some excited.
