For today's game, we ended up scoring all the categories in the order that the game claims are easiest to hardest. So yellow, green, blue, and then purple. The genericness of the words in today's game were a bit confusing for us at first and we really spent a long time trying to decipher. There was a few attempts wasted following some incorrect trails but once we saw CAP and LID we started to match things up a bit better.
Our focus was on 'Hats' at first with FUR, CAP, and LID but we just couldn't find a fourth word. This is where CORK came in and we realized our thoughts were headed in the wrong direction. Add TAB and we started our journey to victory in today's game.
DURATION
PERIOD
SPELL
STRETCH
TIME
Green was our number two score and it came quickly. TIME and PERIOD were the obvious two that started it. Together these two words pretty much spelled out the category and it didn't take long for us to connect SPELL and STRETCH.
Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.
REGULATE
CHECK
CONTAIN
CURB
LIMIT
With only eight words left the game became much easier, although it wasn't a guaranteed win. We couldn't shake the thought of 'Snake' being a category with VENOM and EGG, but just couldn't match up much more than that. LIMIT and CURB were the two words that started the blue category win for us though and after that, it was a quick jaunt to the winners circle.
