Apple announced the iPhone 15 Pro models last month which have been received pretty well by the tech community. The new titanium finish is more durable than stainless steel but had its fair share of controversies. However, Apple is amid complaints from users, stating that the units are overheating without any reason, The company is aware of the issue and has already issued a fix for the iPhone 15 Pro's overheating issue. Now, thermal images of the iPhone 15 Pro have surfaced, showcasing the impact iOS 17.0.3 brought to the table.
As mentioned earlier, Apple is aware of the overheating issue on the iPhone 15 Pro and has released iSO 17.0.3 which carries the fix. Now, ZDNet has conducted an experiment that shows how the iPhone 15 Pro performs in a thermal test after updating to iOS 17.0.3. The publication used a FLIR thermal imaging camera to measure the temperature of the iPhone 15 Pro and compared it to the competition.
The temperature readings were recorded before and after installing iOS 17.0.3 which should give us a pretty good idea if Apple's fix has worked or not. Temperature readings before updating to iOS 17.0.3 were 107.1 degrees Fahrenheit which is much higher than the 85 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit on competing Android phones.
The hottest any other phone got when testing in the same conditions was the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5, which got up to 98.7 degrees Fahrenheit.
After downloading iOS 17.0.3, the battery life on both iPhone 15 Pro models was drained and then fast-charged with the same mechanism as before. This time, the temperature of the iPhone was a little warmer but did not go above 93.8 degrees Fahrenheit. What this means is that Apple's latest update did the trick as iOS 17.0.3 fixed the bugs contributing to overheating issues.
They stayed between the high 80s and low 90s — a big improvement from before iOS 17.0.3 when the two iPhone 15 Pro models were consistently above 100 degrees Fahrenheit when fast-charging with the 35W charger.
While this is one side of the story, a Youtuber tested Apple's latest update in his experiment and found out that there were no differences in the temperature. Apple's iOS 17.1 update is currently under beta testing which will further improve the performance of the iPhone 15 Pro and fix bugs that are causing issues. For now, we can conclude that the update has done its part to fix the overheating issue on the flagship iPhone models.

The re-using of taglines is a foreign concept to Apple, and while we have yet to see the company repeat the same words to market a product or service, we have noticed that on this occasion, the company used the exact same words for its October 30 ‘Scary Fast’ event. For those that do not know, the firm used the same tagline to describe the performance of the previous-generation M1 Pro and M1 Max, which can only mean that the M3 may surpass performance and power efficiency expectations.

The United Kingdom is urging companies like Apple, Samsung, and Google to find a solution to prevent phone thefts in London. The idea is to make it harder for thieves to steal phones in the first place, so they can't easily sell them. This request was made by London Mayor Sadiq Khan and police chief Sir Mark Rowley during a recent meeting. They spoke to Apple and told them that they should find a viable solution that would stop making iPhones such a lucrative target for thieves.
