Since Assassin’s Creed 2, Ubisoft introduced the notoriety system, which adds an even deeper level to the stealth gameplay. Prior, in the first game you could just walk around assassinating guards at a whim. There were consequences, but not enough to stop you from repeating them. In the sequel, if you did something like kill a guard, posters would go up and guards would almost always be on high alert. This system has changed quite a lot throughout the games. In Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, it seems to be overhauled again. To understand how the new notoriety system works in Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, this guide will explain it to you.
While the other games had this mechanic. When you would do something bad posters and NPCs would announce your actions throughout the city. For the latest entry, a lot of the core system is still there but with a few added elements to emphasize the immersion. In Assassin’s Creed: Mirage if you do something illegal such as pickpocketing or stealing, the notoriety bar on the bottom right-hand of the screen will go up by a notch. The more serious the crime, the more the bar gets filled up.

The cool part is that, unlike other games that have this system, citizens of Baghdad will notice you and call out to nearby guards. So once the bar is filled up even to the first node, you have to keep moving so no one spots you. Additionally, even if you’re not in a chase or being searched for, guards will still remember you if you have notoriety. So you can either stay away from them or bring down your notoriety altogether. The section below will show you how to remove the notoriety.
Losing notoriety is much like other games. However, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage does change it in a couple of ways.
The first way and most common is by looking for posters on your compass above. They’ll only show up if the bar has filled to the first notch . Each poster you bring down will remove one section of the bar . So you’ll need to find and remove three posters for each of the three sections of the bar.

You can also remove your notoriety by bribing town criers. They are located throughout Baghdad, and since the map isn’t that big, they’re easy to spot. When you bribe these NPCs a ll your notoriety gets removed . You’ll need one Power Token to bribe them since they don’t take money anymore. So make sure you’re stocked up on these tokens because you might have to go back to these NPCs time and time again.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest in Ubisoft’s blockbuster series, and a bit of a throwback to an earlier time for the series.
