The Last of Us Part 1 First Person Mod Receives New Gameplay Video

WrestleQuest, Mega Cat’s love note to both pro wrestling and old-school role-playing games, will now launch Aug. 22. Mega Cat and publisher Skybound Games made the remarkable delay announcement just three hours before the game’s original launch date of Aug. 8.

Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando will be hosting a The Last of Us theme park ride, and actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson will reprise their roles as Joel and Ellie respectively for it.

Recently, a Nintendo Switch game called The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival caught the internet’s attention, particularly because it looked like a shoddy knock-off of The Last of Us. Well, it turns out this poorly received title has now been pulled from Nintendo’s eShop.

The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival has been removed from the Switch eShop.

While the popularity of new battle royale titles has dulled, high-profile titles like Gunzilla Games’ Off The Grid are still in the works. Nintendo has removed The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival from the eShop.

First reported by Eurogamer, an infamous ripoff of Sony’s hit game The Last of Us, dubbed The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival, is no longer on the Nintendo eShop. Sony has also fully cracked down on trailers for the game, taking them off of YouTube through copyright claims. Additionally, Eurogamer noted that attempting to access the official eShop page for The Last Hope on Nintendo’s UK website will now bring you to a 404 image featuring Peppy Hare, specifically artwork of his appearance in Star Fox Zero.

The knockoff called The Last Hope — Dead Zone Revival apparently just got knocked off the eShop in the UK.

There is no shortage of blatant copies of popular video games. These copies don’t tend to do well in the marketplace compared to the titles they are based on. But some developers are hopeful that these copies might trick some easy sales. I’m sure you recall the horrible knockoff from Sony’s Naughty Dog The Last of Us title. The game was called The Last Hope: Dead Zone Survival, and it quickly spread online and gained quite a bit of attention. That actually sparked some players to pick the game up despite the title being quite a dud and a poor copy of The Last of Us. 

The developer behind The Last Hope made no attempt to conceal the game it took, uh, inspiration from when it was released on Nintendo Switch. Because that's the point, it seems. It's almost definitely there to dupe someone who thought they were getting the non-existent Switch port of The Last of Us. One of the characters even looks exactly like Ellie and everything.
