The minimalist roguelike “The Last Game” dropped a content update recently, bringing fresh faces, frosty foes, and fiery fun to your next playthrough.
Forget garlic and stakes, this vampire prefers pixelated punishment. The vampire brings a different playstyle to The Last Game, allowing you to drain their foes and stay topped up in the health department.
Speaking of chills, the update also features a frosty new foe – the Frost Giant boss. This icy adversary promises to test your mettle and dodging skills.
The Teleport item adds a dash of chaos (and maybe a shortcut or two?) to your dungeon runs. Mastering this item could be the key to unlocking new areas, leaving enemies in the dust, or teleporting right into a trap. The Heavy Armor is a new addition that lets you shrug off enemy attacks and wade into the thick of battle.
The developers have heard your pleas, and the gates to hidden realms are now easier to access. No more hunting for obscure objects – prepare to face whatever nightmares lie beyond. The gates to Heaven and Hell no longer require a specific item to open, making those areas more accessible. Exploding squirrels now add a touch of chaos (and maybe some roasted nuts?) with flaming trails and poison puddles.
The developers have squashed some pesky bugs, improved the balance, and even added some fiery explosions (because, well, explosions are fun!).
The Yeti boss got a little trickier, offering a stronger challenge for seasoned players. The Cyborg character ditches its wand in favor of a shotgun, upping the firepower. Balancing things out, the update limits the number of heart receptacle rooms per floor.
However, some players found the weapon and upgrade pool a bit shallow. And if you crave deep, branching narratives, this might not be the dungeon crawler for you.
But, with its focus on tight controls and a sprinkle of dark humor, The Last Game might have you coming back for more punishment… I mean, fun… punishment-fun? Try for yourself on Google Play!

Arrowhead has a steady line it needs to walk with Helldivers 2. The developer needs to ensure it both fixes any bugs (not Terminids, the glitchy kind) while also adding new featurs and content to the game in order to «stay relevant».
Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt believes that the studio will have to simultaneously add more content to Helldivers 2, while also fixing any issues that players might encounter in order for the game, to “stay relevant”. Responding to a thread on Reddit, Pilestedt talked about how the studio has been working towards this goal.
Following up on the overwhelmingly positive response to Stardew Valley Update 1.6, developer Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone has revealed Patch 1.6.4, which adds even more content and fixes a number of bugs. Stardew Valley Update 1.6 has been released for PC and will be coming to console and mobile platforms soon. In the meantime, ConcernedApe has released a number of key patches, including the latest 1.6.4 update.
While Xbox Game Pass is set to gain a selection of fantastic Day-One releases in the back half of April, subscribers may want to act fast to play the six games leaving the service in the coming weeks. To offset the amount of titles the platform offers, Microsoft always removes a handful of games whenever it brings in a new selection for players to experience. While that might sound like a bad deal, it makes sense given the already massive catalog on offer and users can still pick up the departing games for a discount before they eventually leave.
Helldivers 2's popularity is still sky-high, but more and more demands have been flooding in lately for developer Arrowhead to put a greater focus on squashing bugs rather than adding new content, something which the devs have pointed out isn't exactly straightforward. It's rather ironic, really, given the game's massive focus on killing democracy-hating bugs.
