The Old School RuneScape community continues to prove just how chaotic it can be thanks to a recent Reddit thread where a player sought advice on how to reclaim a stolen item.

Friends, I'm beginning to worry that we might not ever see the Knights of the Old Republic remake at all. It may have made a splash at its announcement during a 2021 PlayStation showcase, but it's been hanging on by a thread ever since a vertical slice demo—meant to show off all the game's features in a bitesize package—reportedly went down like a lead balloon in front of LucasFilm and Sony execs back in July 2022. It was "delayed indefinitely," and its development was moved to an unspecified «internal» studio at Embracer Group (possibly to Aspyr parent company Saber Interactive, per a Bloomberg report).
Well, the latest news isn't good, I'm afraid. As was first spotted by intrepid Reddit users on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit (via Kotaku), Sony appears to be on a quest to Order 66 any mention of the project on its various social media channels. The original short teaser for the remake has been set to private on PlayStation's YouTube channel, and a Twitter user named Crusader3456 later noticed that a nearly every tweet advertising the remake from 2021 has been mysteriously deleted from the PlayStation Twitter account.
The only remaining tweet that even mentions the KOTOR remake on PlayStation's Twitter is <a href=«https://twitter.com/search?q=knights%20of%20the%20old%20republic%20from%3Aplaystation&src=typed_query» target="_blank" data-url=«https://twitter.com/search?q=knights%20of%20the%20old%20republic%20from%3Aplaystation&src=» https:>a single entry
from the day of the 2021 showcase, where it was mentioned alongside God of War Ragnarok and «other new PlayStation Studios titles». Over on YouTube, the trailer still exists as part of PlayStation's video of the entire 2021 showcase—the company hasn't gone so far as to delete that whole thing—and you can still find a chat with the devs on PlayStation's channel as part of a post-showcase series of interviews. But, well, I think the only reason those aren't gone is because other games are featured there.
I've reached out to Sony and Embracer for comment on this story, and I'll update if I hear back.
It's not looking good, is it? I'm no business expert, but I don't think companies generally set out to delete nearly all evidence of product announcements if they still have any hope of coming out. Plus, with Aspyr and Saber owner Embracer Group finding itself in dire straits after a $2 billion deal fell through last May, I have to imagine execs there aren't keen to throw good money after bad on a project that's run into the rocks.
Still, it's not a full-throated cancellation, and there's always a chance this is just some worrying housecleaning on the part of Sony's social media team. Perhaps the company just doesn't want a bunch of marketing lying

Today, the Star Wars: The Old Republic team unveiled the next chapter in the story told a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Update 7.4, called Chains in the Dark, will take players back to some familiar stomping grounds.
Knights of the Old Republic takes us back thousands of years before the Star Wars movies, but there are a lot of similarities. You find a smuggler with a Wookie friend and the two are in trouble with a local gang, so you recruit their help to get off planet and steal a ship. That ship also happens to look suspiciously like the Millennium Falcon. Among KOTOR fans, it's just as iconic, so it's no wonder that they've brought it to life with Starfield's extensive shipbuilder.
This week, several months since Broadsword Online Games took over development of Star Wars: The Old Republic , studio president Rob Denton introduced himself and gave some details on how things are going now that SWTOR has come under its umbrella. Executive Producer Keith Kanneg also gave a progress update on upcoming patches.
How about a little something to lower your spirits? FoxNext have announced that they're delisting or, ugh, "sunsetting" 505 Go's Alien: Blackout, the surprisingly solid mobile and tablet horror game you could summarise as Five Nights at Freddy's, if Freddy's were a subsidiary of Weyland-Yutani. You've got until 31st October to play it, after which all development and support for Blackout will cease and the game will no longer be available to buy.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’s lead designer reckons his version of a KOTOR threequel wouldn’t be great since he’s “all Star Wars’d out.”
The traditional gaming PC design has been rebooted.
Arthur Morgan contracts TB fairly early in , but much can still be done before his fateful encounter with Thomas Downes. Throughout the game, Arthur's TB progresses in a way that starts to have a significant narrative impact. However, the mission where Arthur contracts the deadly disease has a very specific trigger, meaning that avoiding it can open up other avenues. While this would effectively stop the story and lock out a large portion of the game, it is a viable option for those wishing for Arthur Morgan to live on without succumbing to his seemingly inevitable fate.
Epic Games has announced that it is laying off around 830 employees – around 16% of the company’s total workforce – and splitting off recent acquisitions, with Epic CEO Tim Sweeney admitting that they have been “spending way more money than we earn.”
Update: Sony says the reason the Knights of the Old Republic trailers are being removed from its YouTube and social media accounts is due to music licenses expiring. In a statement to IGN, the organisation said: “As part of normal business, we delist assets with licensed music when the licenses expire.”
There have been plenty of question marks regarding the future of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake over the last year or so, given the development issues being faced by the game behind-the-scenes, and they were recently exacerbated when its announcement trailer on the official PlayStation YouTube channel was set to private, along with PlayStation’s tweet about the game also being removed.
