In the time of always-online requirements, game-ruining microtransactions, and DLC, sometimes players may be left yearning for the days when things were a lot more simple. That's something that HyperMegaTech! is certainly aiming to help with, thanks to the extremely portable Super Pocket handheld consoles.
The Super Pocket consoles come in two varieties, with one Capcom version and one Taito version. Either way, the player will get their hands on a pocket-sized handheld console with a selection of great arcade games, at a relatively low price point. The Super Pocket consoles specifically avoid the bells and whistles of much of modern gaming, and in turn owners will get their hands on a well-crafted device for retro gaming.
Let's discuss the build quality of the Super Pocket consoles first, and here users will certainly not be disappointed. Often retro consoles can feel quite flimsy or of cheap quality, but that isn't the case with the Super Pockets whatsoever. In spite of their small size, the consoles are very well constructed, feeling strong, chunky, and resilient.
From an audio and video perspective, the Super Pocket also impresses. The console comes with a 320x280 IPS screen, and it packs quite a punch in terms of brightness and color, fitting the classic arcade games that come built-in perfectly. Meanwhile those punchy Capcom and Taito tunes ring out very well through the console's speakers.

Somewhere that the Super Pocket could have struggled is with controls — after all, a 78mm x 125mm x 25mm handheld is quite different from an arcade controller. However, thanks to the smart positioning of trigger buttons on the back it isn't too fiddly to control. As someone with large hands, it never felt cumbersome to control, even when pulling off special moves and combos in games like .
The Super Pocket consoles get the essentials right, and that is fantastic to see. However, there are a few extra elements that make the devices even more enticing. Chief among these is Evercade support, which serves as a huge victory and a means to make the Super Pockets more than just a novelty based around a single company. Instead, the player can pick up the Evercade cartridges of their choosing to expand the game library — although they should probably pick those games that will work best for a small device on the go.
One other useful improvement is the inclusion of an Easy Mode on both Super Pocket versions. This tweaks the titles to make them a little easier should the player choose, which given the severity of some of these games could certainly prove useful to those unfamiliar with the

Humans are horrible. You don’t need an allegory about the environment filled with blue aliens to tell you that. However, the joy of James Cameron’s Avatar isn’t in its humans, or the azure Na’vi, it’s in the vibrant, living world of Pandora. From the instant you start Frontiers of Pandora, it’s clear that Ubisoft has done an incredible job bringing this world to life, and while you bathe in the neon glow of its incredible wildlife, you’ll discover a people whose lives and culture you’ll want to protect.
There's likely fewer than 30 days left before the crypto world's inevitable leap into traditional finance offers digital-money proponents a path to redemption post-FTX. That's the bullish narrative in virtual-currency land as the clock ticks down to Jan. 10 – when US regulators must finally decide whether to greenlight a physically-backed Bitcoin ETF. The Securities and Exchange Commission will by that time be required to either accept or deny an application from Cathie Wood's ARK Investment and 21Shares, who were the first to file during this year's batch of applicants. It could at that time also rule on other similar filings. More than 10 companies are working toward getting these ETFs — which would directly hold Bitcoin - green-lit.

Given that there's only about two weeks of 2023 left, it probably shouldn't be a surprise that Read Only Memories: Neurodiver has been pushed back into 2024, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little sad about it. The original Read Only Memories—which somehow turns nine years old next year, god help us—was an excellent cyberpunk visual novel I still think about from time to time

IQUNIX has been on a run this year with its brand new line of SUPER custom mechanical keyboards. We’ve looked at two of these so far with the ZONEX 75 and the 1+1 , both of which were two of the most unique mechanical keyboards we’ve reviewed so far. Today, we’re looking at the Tilly 60 , a compact keyboard that comes in either a 60% or HHKB layout, has a built-in storage compartment, and a volume knob, as well as a unique mounting style we haven’t seen any other company do yet. It’s available for $249 for the wired version and $269 for tri-mode wireless, which is expensive but around $100 cheaper than an actual HHKB and better in every way.

If The Outlast Trials isn’t enough horror, The Game Awards will also see Supermassive Games’ Dead by Daylight title appearing. A new tweet is available, featuring the message from studio director Steve Goss and executive producer Traci Tufte from May, which promised more details later this year. It seems we’ll finally learn more on December 7th.
