Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League finally launched last month, and it’s fair to say that it hasn’t got off to a great start. It was met with mixed reception (at best) from critics and audiences and has failed to attract a sizeable player base, with publisher WB Games recently saying that it had fallen short of commercial expectations.

released to mostly moderate to negative reviews, and according to Warner Bros. Discovery, the divisive game has not performed well.
During the company’s recent earnings call on Friday (via VGC), CFO of Warner Bros. Discovery Gunnar Wiedenfels gave a brief update on the game’s performance and revealed that Suicide Squad fell short of what their expectations were, which will lead to a tougher time for their games business in the first quarter of 2025.
“This year, Suicide Squad, one of our key video game releases in 2024, has fallen short of our expectations since its release earlier in the quarter, setting our games business up for a tough year-over-year comp in Q1,” said Wiedenfels.
Released at the beginning of the month, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was met with a very divisive response from both critics and fans. Many criticized the game’s live-service approach while others also had issues with its ties to the Batman: Arkham series.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts players in the shoes of the ragtag group of villains-turned-mercenaries known as the Suicide Squad. The game stars Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark as they’re tasked with saving the world by killing the Justice League. The game includes a litany of heroes, including Batman — voiced by the late Kevin Conroy — as well as other villains like Penguin, Brainiac, and more.
Kill the Justice League serves as the next entry in Rocksteady Studios‘ “Arkhamverse” of DC games. It takes place five years after the events of the developer’s 2015 trilogy capper Batman: Arkham Knight.
