Stellar Blade developer asks players to "go easy" on the demo

Some side quests in are tied to a fishing mini-game, including one where you have to find a rare item called the Fantastic Bait to attract the game's most elusive aquatic animal. Fishing fanatics will want to get this Bait to conclude the story tied to this optional content. Important rewards can be earned when you collect Fantastic Bait for your toughest fishing trip yet.

Stellar Blade is a brand-new IP from Korean developer Shift Up, best known for games such as NIKKE and Destiny's Child. Stellar Blade also marks the first time Shift Up is developing a single-player-focused game, and has gotten a large amount of attention and hype surrounding it ever since its 2022 re-reveal.

The highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusive Stellar Blade is already beating the recently-released RPG Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in terms of one major metric: daily active players for its demo. A new, unproven IP like Stellar Blade gaining higher player counts than a mainline game from an established franchise like Final Fantasy bodes well for the commercial success of the new sci-fi game.

With a demo currently pulling in almost double the players of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo, Stellar Blade is turning heads, and not just for the reason you’d think. While many on social media are pointing at the heroine’s assets for the game’s popularity, its gameplay has been seeing ample praise, predicting great things for release day on April 26.
