Steam "frivolously" rejects promising retro FPS for adding a sexual assault content warning, its creators say

Grotty fantasy Soulslike Lords of the Fallen - which I have been cautiously looking forward to, despite Ed's efforts to temper my expectations - is getting its chainmail-wearing arse kicked by Steam players. It seems to be selling well, squatting at third on the platform's global top seller charts by revenue, but the user review consensus tells a different story. There are 1,320 reviews at the time of writing, and they are Mostly Negative, which is quite the showing for a game's first day on sale.

It’s been over seven years since the release of Stardew Valley,and its fan base is as active as ever. This time, Stardew Valley fans have organized to ask for more inclusive pronoun options in the beloved farming sim. On Sept. 29, Canadian content creator Atmos Fierce started an online petition asking the game’s creator, Eric Barone, to add additional pronoun options as part of the upcoming 1.6 update. Since then, the petition has received over 3,000 signatures and revived a long-running conversation around how the game interacts with its queer fan base.

When Polygon most recently spoke toshowrunner David Jenkins about his big gay pirate show Our Flag Means Death, it was in part to talk about where season 2 of the series seems to be headed. While season 1 was about the hapless crew of the pirate ship Revenge finding their feet as pirates and finding unexpected emotional connections they often don’t know how to navigate, season 2 brings in a new sense of outside pressure against the central characters in the form of a military assault on piracy.

Redfall was released in May of this year, and it seems like the game hasn’t found its footing quite yet. You can argue that, at this point, the game will not turn itself around. However, the developers have just released a brand new update to the game after reports started to recently surface that the game is on a fast decline in players. This new update could potentially persuade some players to jump back into the game and pick it up for the first time. Included in the update is performance mode that will unlock 60 FPS.

Red Dead Redemption was a hit game when it was first released into the marketplace. The video game took players back to the Wild West, where outlaws thrived, and the law used its limited resources in an attempt to establish order. Initially, Rockstar Games had received some flack for going in this direction, especially with the studio being so loved for the Grand Theft Auto series. However, that quickly changed upon release, and fans loved their narrative journey with former outlaw John Marston. 

French police have arrested five former Ubisoft executives after a years-long investigation that began in 2021 following complaints and allegations of sexual assault and harassment within the company, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz. Among the five arrested are Ubisoft's former chief creative officer, Serge Hascoët, and former vice president of editorial and creative services, Tommy François.
