Starfield players have been testing the game's ship building features ever since launch, creating all sorts of weird and wonderful vessels that vary greatly in how spaceworthy they actually are. You could create something cool like a replica of the The Normandy from Mass Effect, or you could terrorize the Settled Systems with a big cube or a ship the size of a bathtub.
Today's story is an example of the latter, as after seeing someone create a ship that included no ladders at all, one player has somehow made an absolute eyesore of a ship that is made entirely out of ladders. The mind behind the monstrosity is u/Spareparts2104, who shared their creation with the Starfield subreddit earlier this week.

As you can see from the Reddit post embedded down below, this ship is made up of pretty much only ladder blocks, as those that wish to visit the cockpit have to climb up and down its labyrinthine corridors to get to the controls. In fact, in order to get from the ship's loading bay to the cockpit, you'll have to climb up and down a total of 30 flights of ladders and repeat the process to leave. There is no skipping leg day in u/Spareparts2104's crew.
What makes this thing even worse is that it functions purely as a torture device any for astronaut unfortunate enough to come into contact with it. It has absolutely zero storage space, probably handles like a dumpster truck, and has barely any power, meaning it's incredibly slow too. It's a complete abomination that serves absolutely zero purpose other than as a flying cardio workout.
If you're wondering how long it actually takes to get from the loading bay to the cockpit, u/Spareparts2104 has you covered there too. According to them, it takes a whopping 2 minutes and 30 seconds to get to the ship's controls, which is longer than the iconic ladder climb scene from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Something tells me that Naked Snake wouldn't find this climb much of a thrill though.
In other Starfield news, the game recently became the lowest-rated Bethesda game on Steam, dropping below the likes of Fallout 76. A lot of that will likely be down to outside controversies and its Xbox exclusivity, but it's not exactly the greatest look for a new IP.

If there's one thing I love in this world, it's trinkets. Tchotchkes. Doodads and thingamajigs. Nothing enables this desire for collecting crud more than a good old-fashioned Bethesda game. Forks, mugs, spoons, bowls—you name it, it's probably in my inventory.
