gives players the opportunity to do an overwhelming amount of things, including making the perfect spaceship decked out with all the trappings of those found in some of the most iconic science fiction games, television, and movies. Unfortunately, building the perfect ship doesn’t even matter in the end. It is a shame because it hinders the game’s ability to compete with other media in the genre. What’s more disappointing about this, though, is that it is evidence of how ’s massive scope holds back some of its features from becoming the truly unique things they have the potential to be.
’s ship customization system is one of the most popular elements in the game. It could even be a game unto itself, where players travel from spaceport to spaceport in search of the ideal components to craft ships ranging from absurd to aesthetic masterpieces. However, the most intriguing aspect of this feature is that it lets players build a ship that works on a roleplaying level. One that can mimic the experience of being aboard some of the most iconic sci-fi vessels ever imagined, like ’s Normandy, ’s Serenity, or ’s Rocinante. Unfortunately, comes just short of letting players live out this fantasy.

As fun as ’s ship customization is, it has oversights that inhibit players from creating the ultimate fantasy spaceship. There is little trouble when it comes to designing the exterior of a ship, as there are a plethora of parts that grant players the freedom to create sleek spacecraft. The interior is where problems become apparent.
Hab modules dictate what the inside of a ship will look like, and there are, admittedly, tons of options here as well. Staryards, like Deimos and Stroud-Eklund, even have larger modules that add more space and variety to the interior of the player’s ship. All the right pieces are in place to make the perfect spaceship, but blind spots in the game design prevent these modules from being functional or useful.

Players can add an infirmary module to their ship and even recruit a doctor, Rosie Tannehill, as a companion. Rosie can be assigned to the ship, which would presumably place her in the infirmary, but she hardly ever spends time there and can often be found just outside the cockpit. What’s more baffling is that players can’t visit Rosie on the ship to cure afflictions or heal. The same lack of functionality also pervades other ship modules.
Another module players can add to their ship is a brig, yet there are no gameplay scenarios where having one is worthwhile. The cargo hall modules are one of the most egregious examples of design oversight. Players can attach a whopping 3x3 size

Shadows of Doubt is the voxel-based 1980s detective sim in which the glass is always rain-slicked, the coffee as bitter as the human soul, and the whodunnits, procedurally generated. Hard-nosed private eye Rachel (RPS in peace) pronounced herself fascinated but a little stumped by it, back in April, while Graham described it as his "ideal game" in a post about the recent addition of infidelity cases and lost-and-found jobs, adding to my suspicions that Graham is some kind of jigsaw killer and that his news posts are actually ciphered confessions of his terrible crimes.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide released in a bashed-up state thanks to performance issues, an unfinished crafting system, a not-so-great cash shop, and wonky progression. The game clawed its way back into the good will of its players, though, especially since its recent talent tree overhaul, its recent reviews «Very Positive» on Steam at the time of writing. Fatshark is starting as it means to go on: announcing a two-part free update to celebrate its one year anniversary that'll send you to the Carnival. No, really.
For all the ways that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 feels like an add-on for last year's game, it deserves some credit for shaking up the standard 1-55 progression system in a major way. Instead of unlocking every gun, throwable, and gadget just by leveling up, a huge chunk of MW3 items are locked behind new Armory Challenges.
The Sims 4 has been one of the life-sim series' longest-running and most content-packed entries. However, the upcoming For Rent expansion, which allows players to be property owners with new buildings and tenants to look after, has made waves through the community due to its potential for pushing the Sims in-game community to its limits. In a recent roundup from PCGamesN, the community for The Sims 4 has been buzzing following new information and footage of the upcoming new expansion that lets you be a landlord in a new exotic location.
often rewards good behavior, but getting one powerful potion requires manipulating Astarion in a way that's very far from a healthy interaction. Although Astarion isn't exactly the most morally upright of potential party members, it becomes easier to understand why he is the way he is once the darker depths of his backstory are revealed. Ideally, finding out his secrets would allow the protagonist to avoid reawakening any of his old wounds. Sometimes, however, the prospect of power is simply more alluring than the alternatives.
No longer will you be haunted by the hours you've spent playing HuniePop 2: Double Date.
There's a ton of cool weapons in Baldur's Gate 3: the super slick pirate rapier Duelist's Prerogative, the Magic Missile-launching hand crossbow Ne'er Misser, the… hunk of salami? Yes, while it's probably best reserved as fuel for your long rests, the salami item in Baldur's Gate 3 is also a 1d4 damage bludgeoning weapon, and YouTuber cRPG Bro has produced a character build devoted to the most dominant salami-based fighter possible.
The best part of Starfield is undeniably your spaceship, which can be customized or built from scratch to look like anything from a cute little ladybug to a massive Star Destroyer.
Baldur's Gate 3 is a long ol' game. By the end of the story, you've probably spent more than 100 hours staring at your character, whether they be a custom Tav or one of the origin protagonists. So, with any luck, you like the look of them, and wouldn't say no to a way to immortalise that love for all in your camp to see. That's where the latest patch comes in.
It's been less than a month since Super Mario Bros. Wonder was released, and noteworthy speedrunners have already been making waves with their records for clearing the game. However, the Wonder speedrunning community has been even more active lately after discovering a major exploit that changes the speedrunning game entirely. Just recently, the current world record has been beaten by speedrunner Jhay, with the new top time sitting at one hour and 34 minutes. And it's all due to an exploit that allows players to bypass an entire castle without ever setting foot in the level.
Baldur's Gate 3just received its fourth major patch. Once more, the thing's big enough to break the Steam notes. While there aren't any new major features—like the third patch's appearance-changing mirror or, equally as important, letting small characters kiss Karlach—it's still packed with changes.
