's video game universe remains a powerful force in gaming thanks to Cryptic Studios and Gearbox Pubishiing's long-running MMOPRG and Dramatic Labs and Bruner House's , a narrative-driven adventure set in the late 24th century. Now, the two games are joining forces.
About to enter its 14th year of gameplay, Star Trek Online has released multiple successful «seasons» with the newest, Star Trek Online: Incursion, released in September on PC and arriving on consoles on November 1st. Star Trek: Online: Incursion stars Garrett Wang from as Captain Harry Kim and Star Trek Science Advisor Dr. Erin Macdonald plays Commander Erin Macdonald. Star Trek: Resurgence was released in May, where players can play as two point-of-view Starfleet Officers and interact with legends like Ambassador Spock and Captain William R. Riker (Jonathan Frakes).

had the pleasure of interviewing Star Trek Online's Creative Director Al Rivera and Art Director Thomas Marrone, and Star Trek: Resurgence's Lead Writer Dan Martin and Lead Designer JD Straw for a fascinating interview about the state of Star Trek video games and to announce an exciting crossover between Star Trek Online and Star Trek: Resurgence.
Screen Rant: It’s a pleasure to be with you guys today. Star Trek Online and Star Trek: Resurgence, two of the big guns of the Star Trek gaming world. Why don't we start off with introductions, and then I believe there's some big news.
Al Rivera: You can call me Al. I'm Al Rivera. I am the creative director of Star Trek Online. I've been at Cryptic Studios for 20 years. I've been on Star Trek Online for 15-16 years. I was the first employee on Star Trek Online, and I've been here pretty much the whole time. So that's me.
Dan Martin: I'm Dan Martin. I'm the lead writer on Star Trek: Resurgence. I've been writing for games for 10 years, and I've been with Resurgence since before it even existed. Before it was called Star Trek: Resurgence. And I'm delighted to be here and talk with our fellow Star Trek gamers.
JD Straw: I go by JD, I'm the lead designer of Star Trek: Resurgence. I've been working with Telltale folks for a long time ,since Back to the Future and Jurassic Park. And I came on board as the sort of the Unreal expert for Resurgence and led design. I've also had a Narrative Designer background and [I've been a] writer at Telltale. So I kind of come with the pedigree of how we make Telltale Games.
Thomas Marrone: I'm Thomas Marrone. I'm the Art director for Star Trek Online, so I lead the game's art team. I come from UX background originally. But then I'd started doing starships. I actually modeled the Enterprise-F for Star Trek Picard. The model they use in
