Toys for Bob is officially an independent developer, having split from Activision and working on a new title. It discussed a “possible” partnership with Microsoft, and based on a new video from Canadian Guy Eh, Spyro 4 may be in development.
While there have allegedly been “whispers” of Spyro 4 from private talks with industry folk over the past few months, recent details at PAX East matched up with the same. A Windows Central article reported an agreement between Xbox and Toys for Bob for their first title, which would “be similar to games” the latter has “made in the past.”
Canadian Guy Eh allegedly heard this before the article went live, with one individual at PAX East claiming it’s been in active development since last January. Of course, it always seemed a given that Spyro 4 would happen – Toys for Bob somewhat teased it in an art book for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time about four years ago. Take things with a grain of salt, as usual, but if true, an announcement could be a ways off. Stay tuned in the meantime.
