Spatial announces its first season of in-house web-based games

Back in early 2020, Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser shockingly announced he was leaving the studio. While we don’t necessarily know how this will affect Rockstar as they haven’t released a new game since then, Houser was unquestionably a huge creative force at the company, writing every Grand Theft Auto title since GTA 2 as well as Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2, Bully, and more.

Absurd Ventures, the new transmedia company from Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser, has announced its debut projects.

Destiny 2’s endcap to its first 10 years of story will now land next June, as The Final Shape slips back by over three months. In its place will be an extension of the multiplayer shooter’s next season, plus some new features and content inbound to help tide players over.

Nintendo’s flagship releases tend to have a well-earned reputation of releasing in a more polished state than most AAA titles do in today’s day and age, which means we don’t see patches for them with anywhere close to the average frequency. While most reviews aren’t live for Nintendo’s Super Mario RPG, Famitsu’s is currently available (via ryokutya2089). The Japanese publication awarded it a 34 out of 40 with scores of 8, 8, 10 and 8, praising the graphics while calling the adventure more “vivid and exhilarating”, per DeepL’s translation.

Tekken 8 is set to release on January 26, 2024, and ahead of its launch, we've seen trailers for every fighter that will be ready to brawl once the game is released. Among the 32 fighters on the base roster, three are entirely new to the series, and this newest fighter is the final addition to the trio. 

2023 may not quite be done yet, but the game-of-the-year conversation is already beginning to heat up. Case in point, the Golden Joystick Awards, one of the longest-running video game awards shows with winners being voted on by the UK public, has announced their winners. The big winner was Baldur’s Gate 3, which walked away with “Ultimate Game of the Year” and six other awards. The rest of the winner’s field was quite divided, with only two other games, Final Fantasy XVI and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, receiving more than one award. Some games that seemed to be frontrunners earlier in the year, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the Resident Evil 4 remake, only received a single trophy.
