After withdrawing its Find X series of camera-focussed premium phones from India in 2020 (after the launch of its Find X2), Oppo seems to have suddenly become interested in the ultra-premium segment once again. As brands like OnePlus and Oppo (and soon Vivo) collectively attempt to dethrone Samsung in India in the foldables segment, Xiaomi and Oppo now seem interested (or confident) in taking things up a notch and competing with Samsung's premium Galaxy S Ultra series as well, which for years remained untouched.

Fallout 4 next-gen update is now available to players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The update brings native game applications for PS5 and current-gen Xbox consoles, alongside better framerates and other improvements and fixes. Bethesda had announced earlier this month that the Fallout 4 update would be free for all players who own the game on current-generation consoles. However, players who redeemed the PS4 version of the game via PlayStation Plus will have to wait to get the PS5 version.

Assassin's Creed Mirage launched in October last year, offering a pared back, back-to-the basics experience reminiscent of older games in the series. The action-adventure title from Ubisoft took players to 9th-century Baghdad, putting them in the shoes of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones and rises through the ranks to become a master assassin. While there's no word on if the franchise will revisit the character again, Assassin's Creed Mirage creative director has said that the team has ideas about where Basim's story could go.

Gigabyte has introduced the Aorus CO49DQ, a new QD-OLED gaming monitor, in India. The 49-inch monitor sports an extra-wide curved QD-OLED display with 5120 x 1440 pixel resolution and a high refresh rate of 144Hz ideal for gaming. Gigabyte claims that the Aorus CO49DQ comes with AI-powered features, two five-watt speakers, and a three-year warranty. The new gaming monitor will be available to buy in India starting April 31.

Grand Theft Auto 5 has received multiple updates over the years, adding new content, missions, heists and more to GTA Online, but the game has never received a story expansion since its initial release in 2013. Past reports have mentioned scrapped plans for story DLCs for the game, and more recently leaked database file from GTA 5 suggested that developers Rockstar Games cancelled a story mode DLC related to Trevor, one of the game's three main protagonists. Now, the actor who played the eccentric character in GTA 5 has said that he “shot some stuff” for a Trevor DLC that never saw the light of day.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits, the acclaimed action-adventure title that launched exclusively on PC and PlayStation consoles in 2021, seems to be finally making its way to Xbox. While there's been no official announcement from developers Ember Lab or Microsoft, the game has seemingly been rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board, or ESRB, in the US for Xbox Series consoles. Kena: Bridge of Spirits initially launched as a timed exclusive on PS4, PS5 and Epic Games Store on PC.

Embracer Group, the embattled gaming conglomerate that owns the rights to 'The Lord of the Rings' franchise, has announced that it is splitting into three different companies. The group, which went through significant restructuring this year and sold off major game studios like Saber Interactive and Gearbox to reduce debt, will separate into Asmodee Group, Coffee Stain & Friends, and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends. The three games and entertainment companies will be standalone, publicly listed entities, Embracer said, with the split “enabling each entity to better focus on their respective core strategies and offer more differentiated and distinct equity stories for existing and new shareholders.”

Helldivers 2 launched exclusively on PS5 and PC on February 8, quickly becoming a phenomenon and rising up the charts to become one of the most played games on Steam. Electronic Arts has revealed more details about its upcoming Formula 1 racing sim, EA Sports F1 24, with a new trailer. F1 24, first announced in February, will arrive earlier than previous games in the series on May 31 across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. EA detailed the features coming to the game and confirmed that players will be able to compete as a driver of their choice from the 2024 F1 season in the Career mode for the first time.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance, 2018's meticulous medieval action-RPG, is finally getting a sequel. Publisher Plaion has announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, set for release in 2024 across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. Mafia developer Hangar 13 has been working on the next game in franchise for a few years. Sony has revealed the slate of games joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in April. Vodafone Idea has launched Cloud Play, a cloud gaming service for mobile platforms, promising premium mobile games like Asphalt 9, Modern Combat 5, Shadow Fight, and more. Sony has announced the slate of free games arriving on PlayStation Plus in April. Cyberpunk 2077 will be available to play at no cost as part of a limited trial over the coming weekend, according to developer CD Projekt Red. The popular game will be free to play for a few hours on current generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony, but not for PC gamers. You will have access to the base Cyberpunk 2077 game — which will need to be downloaded in its entirety in order to access the trial. The Phantom Liberty expansion won't be part of the trial this weekend.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be launched globally next week. Apple has announced five titles coming to the Apple Arcade service in April, including two spatial games for the Vision Pro Headset. New games Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop, Super Monsters Ate My Condo+, and Sago Mini Trips+ will be available on April 4 across Apple devices. Meanwhile, Apple Vision Pro users will get Crossy Road Castle and Solitaire Stories on April 25. The Vision Pro mixed reality headset launched last month and boasts over a dozen spatial gaming experiences.

2K has announced the release date, roster and a few more details about the upcoming TopSpin 2K25. The revival of the popular tennis sim series will launch on April 26, across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One and PC. 2K also confirmed some of the tennis stars who will be present in the game, as part of a roster of 24 playable pros. TopSpin 2K25 received a new trailer, showing off gameplay and tennis icons like Roger Federer and Serena Williams in action.

Detective Dotson, a mystery-adventure game for PC by Ahmedabad-based independent game studio Masala Games, was announced on Monday. A demo of the game has been added to Steam and is now available to play. Its full version will be released later this year. The 2D platformer game, which is set in modern India, is influenced by Bollywood and Indian TV shows like CID, as per the publishers. Masala Games has previously released Word Mess, a word game, for iOS and iPadOS.

The MSI Claw has been launched and is now available to buy in the US and a few other select markets. The handheld gaming PC was first unveiled at CES 2024 in January as a new entrant into the handheld gaming space. Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, the open-world action-adventure game from Sucker Punch, is coming to PC, continuing the trend of first-party PlayStation titles releasing on Windows. The game will launch with the expected suite of PC features on May 16. The port, predictably, is helmed by veterans Nixxes Software, the Sony-owned studio that has previously worked on PC ports for first-party PlayStation titles like Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Hades, the acclaimed roguelike from Supergiant Games, is coming to iOS as part of Netflix Games on March 19. The streaming giant confirmed the release date on Apple's mobile platform Tuesday, with pre-registrations open for the action title. PlayStation Plus monthly games for March have been announced. The lineup of free games for the month includes racing simulator EA Sports F1 23, kung fu beat ‘em up Sifu, online shooter Destiny 2: The Witch Queen and survival horror title Hello Neighbor 2. All four titles will be available to PS Plus subscribers across Essential, Extra and Deluxe/Premium tiers starting March 5. Members can add the monthly free games to their library till April 1.

Sony is rolling out passkey support on PlayStation platforms globally as an alternative way for users to access their PlayStation Network accounts. The company made the announcement Monday and said that passkeys would offer a more secure and convenient way for PlayStation users to sign in and access experiences on the platform. PlayStation offered password-based sign in option until now, along with security features like two-step verification. Passkeys would eliminate the need to remember passwords and would instead tie account and services access to device-specific unique identification like fingerprint scan, Face ID on iPhone, or a PIN.

Nintendo is said to have delayed the launch of its next-generation console, the successor to the Nintendo Switch. Infinix is looking to launch a new smartphone in 2024. The company teased the flagship gaming phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. PlayStation VR2 is set to get support for VR games on PC this year, Sony has announced. The company confirmed Wednesday that it was testing the ability for PS VR2 to play PC VR games in addition to the already supported titles available via PS5. The PS VR2 launched in international markets in February 2023, and it made its India debut in December. The virtual reality headset is currently only compatible with the PS5 and does not support PS VR content from the previous generation.

Elden Ring, the acclaimed fantasy RPG from FromSoftware, has sold over 23 million copies since its release in 2022, Bandai Namco has confirmed. The publisher revealed the sales figure in wake of the gameplay trailer and release date reveal of the game's first major expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, on Wednesday. Exactly a year ago, Bandai Namco had announced that Elden Ring had sold 20 million copies worldwide.

Palworld, the action-adventure survival title that broke player count records on Steam at launch, has sold 15 million copies on Valve's platform. Developers Pocketpair announced Thursday that the game's total player count had gone past 25 million, with 15 million players on Steam and 10 million players on Xbox. Since its release last month, Palworld has become a phenomenon, becoming one of the most played games in Steam history even as it has attracted plagiarism accusations over its Pokémon-style in-game creatures that players can capture, train and utilise in combat.
