Sonic Frontiers players are having so much difficulty with the Master Trials rematches against Giganto and other bosses that they're spamming the pause button and stomp moves to get through them.
In case you haven't seen all of us Sonic fans having a meltdown on Twitter - Sonic Frontiers' Final Horizon update is brutally difficult. It seems that Kishimoto heard all of us laughing at how easy the base game was and decided to punish us for it because, whether it's climbing the Trial Towers or putting up with Knuckles' control scheme, Frontiers' third update has got hands. In fact, the Final Horizon has got such hands that players are being forced to cheat the game a little bit in order to get through.

The main part of the update that is giving most Sonic fans a tough time is the final Master King trial, which tasks Sonic with rematching most of the big bosses in the game. By that point, you've already beaten each of the bosses at least once, so a rematch sounds easy enough, right? Well, these versions of the boss fights put Sonic at level one, making him deal less damage than usual, and introduce a new perfect parry system that means that Sonic can no longer just hold down the parry button and win every time.
Making Sonic so weak means that it's a lot harder to actually beat bosses with Super Sonic's time limit, especially when parrying all of their attacks now has to be timed perfectly. Thankfully, Sonic fans have come up with a pretty clever way of getting past these restrictions, as some of them have taken to spamming the pause button and stomping to get through these challenges.
Over on Twitter, VersaDile shared a "lifehack" for anyone struggling on the Final Trial, which basically has Sonic going through a boss rush of everyone he's fought in Frontiers up to that point. In the video, VersaDile shows that the best way to get through the new perfect parries is to simply pause and unpause the game as quickly as possible to be able to tell when the attack is coming. Old-school, but it seems to work.
As for dealing enough damage to the bosses within the time limit, VersaDile shows that the best way to deal damage as fast as possible is simply to spam the stomp move over and over again. This is seemingly the best option for Sonic to hit as hard as possible while not taking too much time, making it the perfect attack to spam. It probably says something that this is the best way to get through these encounters, but I don't want to make the Frontiers fans mad, so I'll pretend I don't see it.

Feel like you could handle the beasts of the Upside Down better than the gang could? Why not put that to the test? Kingdom Eighties just dropped on Android. It’s a game about a small town under attack from strange monsters from another dimension whose worst enemy is a bunch of local kids on bikes.
Skill Based Matchmaking has been a contentious issue in games for years. Simply put, it ranks you with players of a similar skill level, which means you'll face good players if you're good at the game. If you're bad at the game, you'll face bad players. Sounds fair, right? Not to the community, who are again outraged at the newest Call of Duty for implementing SBMM.
Sonic Frontiers is on sale for only $30 ahead of Prime Day Round 2.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but I normally despise this trend of VRMMO/isekai-adjacent anime. There are only so many times I can watch the same story about a “regular guy” who dies in his sleep and wakes up reborn as an overpowered character in an MMORPG or a dating sim or what-have-you. And I promise — I’m not being unfair here, they’re all the same story, and I’m tired of pretending they’re not.
