Sega and Sonic Team have released the opening animation for Sonic Dream Team, its Apple Arcade-exclusive platformer that’s out next month. Directed by Tyson Hesse and animated by Powerhouse Animation with music by Tee Lopes, it sees Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Cream and Rouge battling against Eggman and his latest schemes. Check it out below.
Unlike previous titles where Eggman relied on technology, he has The Reverie, which can turn dreams into reality. As a result, players have to venture into his dreams and ultimately stop him. The gameplay resembles more of a 3D action platformer, compared to the recent Sonic Superstars, with different movement types depending on the character.
Sonic Dream Team launches on December 5th and will be playable on iOS, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Sega hasn’t announced plans to release it on other platforms, though it could happen eventually. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.

But despite all that, Sonic Dream Team more than manages to justify its existence – in fact, its superb level design and bite-sized missions make it one of the most fun, creative, and enjoyable 3D platformers I’ve played in a long time.

We found out last August that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024, but a new teaser gave us another glimpse at its newest star: Shadow the Hedgehog.
The logo for the third Sonic movie has been officially revealed and it contains a nice nod to the logo for Sonic Adventure 2 which is, of course, where Shadow the Hedgehog debuted.
It's been over a year since Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released and, as such, Shadow first appeared. He debuted in the post-credit scene, awakening from a red-tinged vat at a long-hidden black site. Now, we've got our first look at him in Sonic 3 where he will play a much bigger role.
