is a mobile action RPG developed by Netmarble for iOS & Android mobile devices, alongside PC. It's a pretty standard mobile title that features a lot of the elements that veterans of the platform will be familiar with, right down to a cluttered UI and the gacha unit pulls that have made this particular genre so infamous. With a lot of reverence paid to its source material and some surprisingly deep tactical options, however, there's a chance can make good on the promise of its explosive IP and deliver some fun.
, the immensely popular Webtoon-turned-anime, follows hunter Sung Jinwoo as he is gifted an opportunity to escape his designation as «the weakest hunter of all mankind» and become a player in his world's global politics, power struggles, and the defense of humanity from external threats. In this world, some humans have awoken to abilities as «hunters» who then go through gates into dungeons to slay monsters, both to close those gates before disaster occurs and to extract expensive, society-altering materials. It's a unique setup that goes on to deliver some great story beats, and starts at the very beginning.
One thing that's immediately interesting about is that it unabashedly targets a demographic of players already familiar with the IP in some way. While it's still accessible to those who have never read or watched, it's definitely a sub-optimal way to experience the story. The condensed narrative is excellent for a mobile game looking to avoid lengthy cutscenes and monologues, but does away with a lot of the context that makes the world of so compelling in its other forms.
In focusing on a more streamlined story, however, ensures its progression through its content is expedited and engaging. Players won't have to slog through dramatically long backstories to get to the action, but they'll be treated to Webtoon panels, voiceovers, and small 3D cutscenes every now and then to keep things interesting. This blend of storytelling devices works well for a game that's going to be picked up and put down in small chunks, and the ability to revisit story moments when required means refreshers are always available.
So far in Early Access — at about fifteen hours played — we've managed to get deep into the story, past where the anime's first season left off. There seems to be plenty more already available as progression goes further, though, and what we've seen is a great representation of as a narrative. There are even side stories that help expand content somewhat, filling in a few of the gaps that the more quickly-paced narrative sometimes skips over in lieu of a snappier tale.
's combat can be split into two distinct camps: there are levels where Sung Jinwoo is the player-controlled character

is in the midst of something potentially special. At time of writing, its pre-registration period has exceeded 12 million registered users, with a successful soft early access launch providing valuable feedback on its promising action-RPG gameplay. It certainly has the benefit of strong source material to help buoy it through a competitive mobile market — 's anime adaptation enjoyed a critically acclaimed first season, while the manwha it's based on remains one of the most popular in the form.

The good news is that the grim action-RPG’s wonky performance is already being straightened out, with two of its three hotfixes thus far delivering a noticeable improvements, even on older graphics cards.

Ubisoft Massive's open world action-adventure Star Wars Outlaws will release on 30th August 2024, according to a new story trailer which introduces us properly to "emerging scoundrel" Kay Vess, aka Hannah Solo. If you haven't had the pleasure, Kay is a budding crook on the run from her underworld boss, a journey that sees her tangling with several other Star Wars crime syndicates on various planets. It really feels like they're keeping a lot of the headline Star Wars stuff at a respectful distance for this one: yes, Jabba the Hutt makes an appearance, but there's nary a whiff of The Force, Jedi or Sith in the trailer and not once does anybody build a Death Star.
