Xbox Head Phil Spencer Says Not Every Franchise Will Have A Mobile Game

Microsoft made several headlines when they unveiled their interest in bringing on another acquisition. After Zenimax Media, Microsoft went after a massive name with Activision Blizzard. The purchase brought in over $68 billion, and it was an uphill battle for Microsoft. They had to go through a series of regulators to ensure that this deal wouldn’t hurt competition. Of course, the significant component that hit the headlines was the fact that Microsoft would own Call of Duty. That made many players worried about a scenario in which Call of Duty would no longer be available on the PlayStation line of consoles. The folks over at Xbox continued to ensure this wouldn’t be the case.

Twitch goes down the social media route by introducing Stories

Sometimes, it’s hard to know what to make of Twitch. On the one hand, the streaming platform is experiencing peak viewership, but on the other, the company is reportedly laying staff off. Still, it’s business as usual, and it looks as though the Amazon-owned company now wants a slice of that social media pie.

Twitch has stories now, because all social media has to be the same

I remember the good old days, when each of the three or four giant social media platforms offered a somewhat unique experience. Snapchat was good for quick and erasable goofs. Instagram actually showed you cute photos of your friends, instead of just ads. Facebook carved out a niche for the being the only platform that allowed for both Minion memes and the vast extraction of private user data. Now, the differences between them seem to narrow by the day, a trend that the livestreaming platform Twitch appears to be continuing with a newly announced stories feature.

Redfall Has Dwindled In Numbers That Filling A Team Can Be Problematic

The Redfall game leading up to the launch piques plenty of players’ interest. This was one of the big exclusives coming to the Xbox umbrella. Arkane had previously delivered games like the Dishonored series, Prey, and Deathloop. Meanwhile, their next game to launch from the team was a massive letdown. Redfall launched with players providing plenty of criticism over the game and the development team’s choices. Now, it looks like there’s a slim chance of turning things around. That’s because there are not enough players to keep this game experience going.
