Slenderman meets SCP in this Half-Life 2 horror mod

The First Descendant is a fast-paced looter shooter on track for PS5 and PS4, and we got a new gameplay trailer debuting the game's resident speedster, Bunny. For those interested, a crossplay open beta session is being held from 19th September, with PlayStation players invited to sign up.

In yet another major milestone for India, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday inaugurated the country's first 3D printed Post Office at the Cambridge Layout in Bengaluru. The post office building was constructed by L&T Construction using a technology known as 3D Concrete Printing Technology, with guidance from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. The office spans about 1000 square feet and its construction was completed in a span of a mere 45 days, whereas traditional construction methods would have taken around 6-8 months to complete the same.

Half-Life is famous for a lot of things. From the classic Black Mesa labs to the sinister G-Man and always hilarious scientist NPCs, the Valve FPS game remains a staple of the genre, even some 25 years later. But above all, Half-Life is perhaps known for Gordon Freeman, and his principle, mute protagonist gimmick. Since he doesn’t talk, it allows the player to put themselves fully into his HEV-suited shoes, and imagine themselves inside the Half-Life world. But if you discover a spooky little secret in Half-Life, it turns out that Gordon Freeman does, in a way, kind of actually speak. Perhaps this is the big character reveal we’ve all been waiting for ahead of Half-Life 3.

Manhunt 3 feels almost impossible at this point. Though the brutal horror game series remains a true classic, Rockstar is pretty committed already with Grand Theft Auto 5, Red Dead Redemption (including a possible remake or remaster), and the upcoming GTA 6 release date. It feels a bit weird to reminisce about such a bleak, bloody game as Manhunt, but to this day, I haven’t experienced anything that rivals its sheer nastiness. That might be about to change however, as David Szymanski, developer of beloved throwback boomer shooter Dusk, unveils their new game Butcher’s Creek, a self-proclaimed combination of both Manhunt and Monolith’s Condemned Criminal Origins.

Half-Life will never die. Although it’s been almost 20 years since Half-Life 2, and Half-Life 3 has become essentially mythical, the Valve FPS game remains a stalwart of PC history, with mods and fan projects keeping the legacy of Gordon Freeman alive. Half-Life Alyx proved there’s still so, so much more to explore and enjoy in the world that brought us headcrabs and G-Man, and now, devout Half-Life fans aim to boost, promote, and memorialize the iconic shooter by breaking the Steam world record for concurrent players of HL Opposing Force – and everyone can take part.
