Share of the Week: Fortnite

A big part of Baldur's Gate 3's charm lies in its characters, who are as strikingly emotive as they are simply interesting to listen to. Whether it's the party members you spend every night at camp with or the oddballs you stumble across in town. So, months after release and as we cap off the year, fans are looking back at their favourite dialogue from all corners of the game.

It’s only a couple of days away from the big day, and if you’re like me you’ll be frantically buying last minute presents and attempting to master the art of wrapping. Or, are you one of the more organised ones that means you’re able to put your feet up this weekend and get some gaming in?

We’re friends, right? I can be honest with you. I know it. I was going to follow up my earlier list, 10 bad games you should play, with a similar list around the same time of year. However, I don’t have a kusoge chambered for today, so I’m bumping it to a year-end list.

Finally, you’re not stuck with stacking items only up to 30! In the latest LEGO Fortnite update, players can now stack certain items up to 50.

Developers that worked on 2023's best games share what it means to them to win at The Game Awards.

In a time when just about everything (other than Nintendo games) is coming out on PC alongside the Xbox and PlayStation (eventually), it’s become the great intersectional platform. There are games that are only on PC, games that are on PC and Xbox but not PlayStation, games that are on PC and PlayStation and not Xbox, and games that are on PC and Switch but neither Xbox nor PlayStation. That means there was a terrifically wide range of nominees in the running for PC Game of the Year for 2023 – including quite a few that would’ve easily made this list if they’d come out in any of the past several years instead. What stands out is that, in a conversation that spanned all genres, RPG dominated the top of the list almost entirely – but each of them is wildly different from the others.

Festival season has long ended, but that didn't stop more than 800,000 from snagging passes to see The Weeknd headline yet another show. Except neither he nor his fans were physically together. The concert was held virtually, in Epic Games Inc.'s Fortnite, with the singer's avatar taking the stage, representing the latest in a growing list of virtual concerts.

NVIDIA announced the release of a new GeForce Game Ready driver (version 546.33) optimized for Embark's competitive first-person shooter The Finals, Fortnite Chapter 5, and Squad's latest update. As usual, you may download the driver either via GeForce Experience or directly through the website.

2023 has been one of the best years for video game releases in recent memory. While coming into the year we knew we’d be getting highly-anticipated sequels with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, something that defined this year was the blistering pace of great game releases, seemingly every month.

Last night was The Game Awards, and how good it was or wasn’t will vary depending on who you talk to. On the one hand, there were good reveals that had people excited. For example, some people are playing the latest adventures of Kratos because of the free DLC that was dropped last night, and the same goes for those who are fans of Clive Rosfield. There were also some fun awards moments, like Baldur’s Gate 3 winning Game of the Year. But for many online, they’re talking about Geoff Keighley and how he handled the show last night; not all of it is positive mentions.

When Epic Games first pitched Fortnite back in 2012, it envisioned a cooperative sandbox game of crafting, building, and survival. Players would scavenge for supplies during the day, build shelters and weapons, then fend off creatures of the night when the sun set, à la Minecraft.
