Tekken 8’s roster continues to grow with Shaheen being the latest reveal, the announcement accompanies with a gameplay trailer. It shows Shaheen primarily using kicks and punches, with movement being quite slow. Shaheen could be the choice for players who prefer this movement to some of the more flashier and faster characters that have been revealed.
Shaheen was expected to be part of the roster, following a leak of the Tekken 8 roster earlier this year. Shaheen is a close quarters combat fighter using his feet and fists to cause damage. There are some acrobatic moves as shown in the trailer, and some body surfing too. The Tekken 8 demo is available now on PS5, and will be available from December 21st on PC and Xbox Series X|S. In the Tekken 8 demo, you are able to check out the first chapter of the game’s story, The Dark Awakens, check out the Arcade Quest, as well as delve into a local versus fighting mode. There’s no online multiplayer in this demo, it seems, though there’s already been a closed beta and closed network test for Tekken 8 in the last few months.
The full game release for Tekken 8 is on 26th January 2024.
Looking back on the last game, Tekken 7, we awarded it a mighty 9/10 in out review, saying: “Tekken 7 is a phenomenal fighting game experience and one I’d highly recommend. It’s by no means perfect, as the game is not without a few technical issues online, some long loading times, and minor continuity errors, yet as far as most people will be concerned, it delivers a stunning, up-to-date fighting game experience from one of the masters of arcade fighting games. A solid return to form.
