Second Extinction to be delisted, servers to go offline in 2024

Square Enix’s Star Ocean: The Second Story R, a 2.5D remake of the 1998 classic RPG, is now available on PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. It features revamped visuals, high-quality portraits for characters, a rearranged soundtrack, quality-of-life features and some new content.

"Star Ocean" is a fantastic name, evoking a sense of adventure, 16-bit blue skies, the majesty of space. "The Second Story R" is a terrible subtitle, evoking WhatsApp messages where I accidentally press 'send' too soon. Combined they produce Star Ocean: The Second Story R, a beautiful-seeming 2.5D remake of a Square Enix PlayStation JRPG. It's out on Steam now and there's a demo.

Eleventh Hour games successfully funded their Kickstarter campaign in May of 2018 with an initial target date of April of 2020. The game was delayed and has come a long way since then.

Medieval strategy game Manor Lords will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on April 26, 2024, publisher Hooded Horse and developer Slavic Magic announced. Second Extinction, the online dinosaur shooter from System Reaction, will have its servers deactivated next year. The title has also been removed from every storefront to prevent any new purchases, but anyone with the game already in their library will still be able to enjoy it until the servers eventually close.
