A cheeky Valentine's Day poem shared by the Sea of Thieves Twitter account seems to be teasing the game coming to other consoles, as has been highly rumoured over the past few weeks.
As I'm sure every Xbox fan and gamer is aware of by now, this week could mark a huge shift for Xbox and its approach to exclusives. Over the last few months, it's been rumoured that a number of its games are coming to other platforms, including Hi-Fi Rush (which even has console-specific t-shirts for PS5 and Nintendo Switch hiding in its files), Pentiment, and Sea of Thieves.
Although Xbox isn't planning on revealing its plans until tomorrow night, it seems like it's already comfortable with teasing what's about to happen. Over on the official Sea of Thieves Twitter account, a Valentine's Day poem was shared that is pretty obviously hinting towards the game coming to other platforms.
The poem reads, "Rowboats are red, and sometimes they're blue, other times they're green, occasionally they can be white... Wait, where were we going with this?". Although usually this might just seem like a weird hint towards new sails colours or something, considering the rumours that have been prevalent across all of 2024 so far, it's more likely a not-so-subtle hint at Sea of Thieves coming to other consoles.
Let's start off with "Rowboats are red", which is likely a hint at Sea of Thieves coming to Nintendo Switch, as red is the main colour associated with Nintendo. It's not clear how that would happen considering the Switch seems a little underpowered to run such a big multiplayer game, but it's possible that it could come via cloud streaming.
It could also come to the next Nintendo console, which is rumoured to be launching at some point in 2024.
Then there's "sometimes they're blue", which is clearly nodding towards PlayStation, a brand that is almost always represented by blue. Heck, even Hi-Fi Rush had blue colours related to PlayStation with its datamined t-shirt. Finally, we have "occasionally they can be white", which is a bit more mysterious, but could possibly be related to Epic Games Store, the only remaining system and store front that Sea of Thieves could come to.
It's possible that Rare just wanted to do a funny post for Valentine's Day related to colours, but since each colour can be associated with a different console that Sea of Thieves currently isn't on, it's pretty clearly a hint at what's going to be announced tomorrow.
