Legendary artist Anita Ward may have just hinted at her involvement in Grand Theft Auto 6. This led some fans to speculate that one of her iconic songs that was already featured in GTA: San Andreas, although sung by a different artist, could also be part of GTA 6.
The first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer that debuted in December was edited to the rhythm of Love Is a Long Road. The 1989 song is one of the most recognizable parts of Tom Petty's discography. Anita Ward's portfolio of works also isn't lacking in hits, but none of them come close to her disco rendition of Ring My Bell by American songwriter Frederick Knight, which topped several music charts on both sides of the Pond following its 1979 release.
It is that exact song that some fans are now suspecting could make an appearance in Grand Theft Auto 6, with the ongoing speculation rising after Anita Ward's verified Spotify page updated its cover artwork to display the upcoming game's logo. The change is said to have occurred in the second half of February, having initially been spotted by Reddit user AlilBitTall. Although the GTA 6 logo only appeared on the artist's channel instead of being attached to any particular track, the fact that Ring My Bell is synonymous with Anita Ward and gives off strong '80s Miami vibes led many fans to conclude that if there's one song of hers to make it into the game, this will be it.
Ring My Bell was already featured in GTA: San Andreas, with players being able to hear it when they tuned in to the K-JAH West radio station. However, that particular track wasn't the famous disco hit by Ward, but a much more obscure reggae rendition by Blood Sisters. Both were released in 1979, but only Ward's song went on to become a global hit. Rockstar didn't even license the other version for its 2021 rerelease of the game, leaving Blood Sisters' Ring My Bell outside the scope of the GTA: San Andreas — Definitive Edition track list.
Whether GTA 6 ends up featuring the more famous version of the song or any other one of Ward's hits remains to be seen. The newly emerged Spotify cover does appear to hint that the legendary singer is involved in the game at some level, as it's unlikely that her label would just decide to use the logo of Rockstar's much-anticipated title without permission, which could have legal implications.
Some fans went as far as to speculate that Ward's Ring My Bell may end up being featured in the second GTA 6 trailer, arguing that the song would be a perfect fit for it. Regardless of those theories' veracity, the likelihood of Rockstar dropping another trailer anytime soon appears slim, as the developer historically took around a year to share second looks at its upcoming Grand Theft Autogames. In the meantime,

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is an all-time classic, but there's no doubt that its in-game mirrors have always been slightly wobbly in places. Now though, we finally know why, and it centres around a workaround put in place due to a lack of video memory – at least in the PS2 version.

Rockstar Games has historically had significant issues with crunch culture and excessive overtime over the years, and though, in the wake of Red Dead Redemption 2’s arduous development cycle, the company has taken measures to ensure that development of future projects (including the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6) can be done in much more healthy and sustainable fashion, following some recent workplace policy changes, it seems some employees are fearing that Rockstar could return to its former tendencies.
's single-player campaign seems fairly straightforward, but the three ending possibilities are anything but. gives players control over how the story will reach its dramatic conclusion, with a choice of three very different options. Protagonist Franklin Clinton must decide between killing Michael De Santa, killing Trevor Philips, or teaming up with both. While there is a true ending to the game, there is no right or wrong answer for players other than leaving things in a way that they feel confident about the choice they made.
