Rockstar Updates GTA Online Community Guidelines to Promote 'Positive Gaming Experience' for Everyone

As a somewhat deflating example of the money-churning might of GTA Online becoming the sole focus of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 efforts over the last decade, the actor who played Trevor in the ridiculously well-selling crime epic has teased some details of planned story DLC that would have turned the controversial protagonist into a James Bond-style spy. The pack supposedly got as far as shooting with the actors, only to end up cancelled and folded into a GTA Online heist.

Rockstar Games has announced it's joining EA in raising the price of its GTA+ subscription service, from £4.99 / $5.99 per month to £6.99 / $7.99. Representing a 40 per cent increase in the UK, new users will immediately be charged the new price while existing members will begin paying extra from 11th June 2024. Since GTA+ only offers users monthly memberships, there's no way to save a bit of money with a 12-month commitment to the service.

GTA 6 publishers Take-Two Interactive have announced that they're "rationalizing" their "pipeline" and positioning/restructuring/streamlining for growth by, you guessed it, laying off a load of people and cancelling a bunch of games. As detailed in a Security Exchange Commission filing, Take-Two are doing away with five per cent of the approximately 11,000 people who work for them, and have cancelled several in-development projects worth tens of millions of dollars.

A free trial for NBA 2K24 is available for Nintendo Switch Online members from April 17 — April 23. Nintendo Switch Online does place an emphasis on its retro gaming collection, but there are additional perks that the service includes, such as game trials. NBA 2K24 features significant gameplay improvements to the overall series, leading some to say the gameplay is the best it has ever been. Despite a rough launch and mixed reviews, time has passed and updates have been made, so there is a chance gamers will feel NBA 2K24 has improved, and a trial is the perfect chance to let players decide.

With GTA 6 now on the horizon, Grand Theft Auto Online players are sharing what they want to see from the game in a final update. Following the recent price hike for EA Play, as well as price bumps for other video game subscription services over the last year, Rockstar's GTA+ is getting more expensive too.

Revealed during yesterday's Triple-i Initiative, procedurally generated detective sim Shadows Of Doubt largest update yet is playable right now. Dubbed "The Sharpshooter Assassin", the the patch introduces two new killer variants, both snipers who'll blast lead from vantage points around the city.
