We have news of a surprising performance cap on a game that we really expected to do better.

In the lead-up to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s launch, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio made it abundantly clear that the RPG was going to be its biggest, most ambitious game to date, and in the immediate aftermath of its release, it looks like the game is enjoying the sort of success the developer would have hoped for. In addition to receiving widespread acclaim from critics, Infinite Wealth also broke the series’ peak concurrent user count record on Steam upon launch, and as per Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, was generating similar interest in leading up to its release as well.

If you noticed that there hasn’t been a ton of hype or buildup to the return of the Halo TV Series on Paramount+ ever since the Season 2 trailer dropped, there’s a reason for that. While many were curious about what the adventures of Master Chief would look like in Season 1, the results were FAR from what fans hoped for. According to analyst and Circana executive director Mat Piscatella, the survival crafting title surpassed Fortnite in daily active users on Xbox Series X/S in the United States on January 22nd.

Myth of Empires has opened up a limited-time Steam playtest starting today through January 30th. The test comes as the open world survival sandbox set against the backdrop of warprepares for launch next month.

Many in the world today don’t like the idea of people talking negatively about another product, regardless of the medium. To a certain level, we can appreciate and respect that. After all, regardless of the result, it’s fair to assume that many people worked hard to create the thing you watched, listened to, or played. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the January 2021-announced Indiana Jones game from publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer MachineGames, will launch for Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store in 2024, the companies announced. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.
