Pass the Bomb is an entertaining but challenging word game by Piatnik for those who might need a better handle on the language in which the game is printed. Recommended for players age 12 and up, it’s excellent and addictive fun.
MicroMacro: Crime City Review – A Fun Case Solving Board Game
In this neatly packaged box, you will find 110 double-sided cards (effectively giving you 220 options to work with), a unique game die that has custom icons on it, and a toy bomb – don’t worry, you won’t lose any fingers, it’s a plastic toy that has a sound box in it that makes the sound of ticking and then exploding. Unfortunately, batteries are not included, and you will need 2 AAA batteries to get your bomb to work.
The box has a plastic insert perfect for housing all the components, including two slots for cards, one for the custom die, and a deep-set spot for the bomb.
After you have taken everything out of its box and set up your bomb with your batteries, you are ready to start. Shuffle the cards and ensure they all face the same way (corresponding colours face the same way).

Depending on how long you want your game to last, deal with several cards. The recommended number of cards is 13, but considering the Pass the Bomb is made for between 2 and 12 players, you can decide how long the game is. Each card has a combination of letters that need to be used in a word by each player for that round.
Once you have your cards laid out, and before you do anything else, the first player grabs the bomb and rolls the die. The info manual will explain how you can use the snippets of your word depending on what you get on the dice roll. For example, if your die shows “Tick…, ” you may not use the letters at the start of the word. On the opposite end, if the die shows a bomb, the letters can’t be used at the end of the word. And finally, if the die reads “Tick…Tack” with a bomb on it, the letters can be used anywhere in the world.
Now that you know when you can use your letters, it’s time to flip over the card to reveal your letters, start the bomb, and start coming up with your words. Once you have said a word that fulfils the requirements, you pass the bomb to the person to your left. The aim is to devise a word that hasn’t been said before and pass the bomb before it “blows up” in your hand. If it is still in your hand when the sound goes off, you lose that round and take the card as a penalty.
Wingspan Review – A Bird Collecting & Engine Building Board Game
Once all the cards in the pile you drew are gone, each player counts their cards to figure out who has the least number of cards, and they win. If there is a tie for people with the least cards, the winner is determined in a sudden death match.

For far too long, Xbox gamers have had to say to themselves “Next year. Next year’s going to be the big one” as they hope for platform defining exclusives. It’s no secret that Microsoft’s expanding collection of game studios have struggled to produce over the last few years, but 2023 was a year that changed that in some ways.

There’s now over 50 million PS5 consoles out in the wild, as they’ve taken a firm grasp of this generation, and then there’s the launch of the PlayStation VR 2 to hopefully rekindle their ambitions for virtual reality.

For the first time in five years, has failed to be the best-selling game in the United States. The Activision-published series has become a yearly blockbuster event in the gaming industry, but even impressive – if expected – sales of weren't enough to top the 2023 sales chart. It was Avalanche Software's which managed to unseat the reigning franchise, usurped by another incredibly popular media property.
What does it mean to be an indie developer? Well, the definition these days seems to about as broad the Action-Adventure genre. Games with all the hallmarks of an indie production can come from a small team within a multi-billion dollar conglomerate, from indie publishers that have brought developers in-house, and then we’ve seen independent developers build up and grow over the course of decades to the point that they can craft landmark, genre redefining RPGs.
